Do You Worry About the Ethics of Tickling Videos?

This might be specific to me, but I definitely feel bad sometimes watching videos from Jane O’Brien Media/Competitive Endurance Tickling, etc. They did M/M, nonsexual tickling (as in, the models didn’t even know they were making videos that would end up on pornhub). The movie “Tickled” was based on the people behind Jane O’Brien releasing videos without the models’ consent, harassing models afterwards, etc etc. I’m sure there were threads about the whole situation when it was more recent.

Despite knowing all these things, Jane O’Brien videos are my favorite tickling videos. I don’t think I could even purchase videos from them anymore, but I almost wish I could. As much as I don’t want to support a bad company, I’m also tempted by the content. I feel bad enjoying content when I know that the models didn’t enjoy it, or were treated poorly or something. Am I guilty for enjoying the videos when I know they were produced in bad faith?

I know that the porn industry at large has lots of ethical issues, but I mostly only watch tickling videos anyways. I just wanted to get other people’s thoughts on this subject.

Also, if anyone can recommend a studio/clips that I can support instead, let me know! I’m interested in most F/M and M/M content :)

Bear in mind that the company you mentioned was a very specific case involving widespread abuse, blackmail of participants etc, and not at all representative of what goes on in this industry. Like-wise within the wider porn industry, you may find specific instances of abuse, but it isn't the norm. I am aware of certain high-profile porn companies that are known to treat models like crap, but I believe that there are less ethical issues surrounding porn nowadays than most people would think - especially when it comes to things like consent.

Yeah, you can't judge an entire industry because of one tarnished producer. Sure, this case gave the industry a bit of a black eye, but it did help remind our community that this is a BUSINESS. It's about making money. It's a commercial enterprise. Sure, some producers are tickling enthusiasts themselves, and surely some models are "into it" in their personal lives, but overall, the models are working, and everyone else is working here. It's not just tickling enthusiasts getting together to bask in their fetish. I think some people forget this. If you want only The Genuine, stick with amateur clips.

This. If I recall correctly, some of the guys involved in the entire thing even said had they been told upfront it was fetish stuff, they still would have gone ahead with it. It was the blackmail and D'Amato being more or less a Batman villain going to extremes to fuck with their personal lives that was the problem.

That said yes, I've only ever worked with people who knew that it was a fetish project and what that meant. The bulk of people are fine with the idea of being in jerk-off videos if they're not put in sexually compromising or explicit situations. You still need to tell them they are jerk-off videos, though.

I tend to care about ethics with everything in life. I’ve been a fan of Real Tickling since I was in high school. If I find out he was using underaged models, treating them terribly, blackmailing them, racists, etc., I’d stop watching his videos and delete all of the videos I’ve bought. But the reason Real Tickling is one of my favorites is because we know he was on the up and up.

There are a lot of great companies out there, I’m sure you can get what you’re looking for if you do some searching.

Good luck

Don't let your emotions get in the way of you having a good time.

I'd have to say that yes, ethics play a role for me for sure, both as a consumer and a producer of content. I think the examples from the "Tickled" film prob don't happen as much, but I have heard of underage models being used and mistreatment/lies being told to models and that doesn't sit well with me. It also makes me wonder why people continue to work with some producers when the word is out on them, but that's a whole different story. Anywho, yes ethics makes a difference to me and I like to support those on the up and up and those who also have a legit kink vs just trying to branch into another easy money making venture compared to more "vanilla" porn pursuits.

No younger than 18.

In the documentary, some of the victims stated otherwise.

D'Amato threatened to sue the makers of Tickled for defamation, but they defended their film and as far as I know, the suit didn't go anywhere and then dude died.

People who DON'T worry about Ethics shouldn't even be on this forum ..cause than you are simply a bad human being

Fortunately there isn't a requirement for people to share the same opinions about everything before engaging on a public forum. That said, most people will be concerned about ethics whenever there are valid concerns (you wouldn't find many people on here defending the D'Amato case mentioned above, for example). Simply assuming that there are widespread ethical issues within the industry however, doesn't make it true.

I absolutely take ethics into account and think everyone should. Once I found out that "Collegesoles" dude on PH was doing those "secret cum" videos without permission from the women I stopped watching any and all of his videos. Turns out he got arrested for being a Pedo as well, so I made the right call.

What you mean in ethics ?
Actually rules adult respect fun are normal
So if the ticklee signs contracts and do video it’s fine

Yes. There are several people I refuse to watch because of them misleading people.

The earliest one was TC, where I found out that he pressured /misled some of the models to do things they were not comfortable with. (I.e. one would come in for tickling, and he wouldn't respect safewords,or pressure girls after to do clips for his footjob site). I have heard arguments to the contrary though, and that the guy WAS professional. So it's a he said/she said type of thing.

Collegesoles was one of them.
Right now, that dude that posts vids on pornhub where he goes up to strangers saying he's doing an experiment for college with feet and then posts to pH.
There's another Hispanic company on c4s that openly states that they do these tickling vids claiming they are therapy and posting without their victims knowledge.

For me, there is a difference between coming in, knowing that your shooting for a fetish shoot, and being naive to what that actually means (i.e. you're likely going to show up on pH), and being taken advantage of with no clue what you are being asked to do and that these clips will be posted on the internet.

Tickle Central? That's a shame. He made some great, really quality clips. Is that why his stuff is no longer for sale anywhere? Did he get sued?

I'm not even sure that I believe that guy's shtick, but in any case it's not an attractive sales angle to me, either. Manipulation and lies aren't sexy.

I think he stopped because of the piracy. He left the c4s sites dormant. My understanding is that after a certain period of not updating the sites, c4s closes them if they don't get a response from the owner.

Sometimes I wondered how the guy behind real tickling was able to push a lot of these girls past their limits. I always assumed he had some back handed, shady way of tricking these girls into it. I loved his videos but some of those girls really do get tortured.

appearantly he was a very disgusting person... thats whats I heard on this forum that is..

I've never heard bad shit about TIB. Bring your evidence.
I've never heard a bad thing about TIB either. It just blew my mind that he was consistently able to bring in so many non-fetish girls and tickle them with such a high level of intensity.
