Hope everyone is well and keeping safe during this difficult time.

I have a problem the last two days.

As my signature shows, I'm a regular viewer of Jim Gardner's newscast in Philadelphia, even though I have lived in NY for several years.

I watched on Tuesday night. as I usually do.

Suddenly, last night at 6 and 11 for seemingly no reason whatsoever. Instead of the usual newscast coming on when I clicked the usual "Watch Live" link.

When I click The "Watch Live" link.

Instead of Jim Gardner or another newscast from WPVI coming on.

I get a blue screen, with a white 6 circle on the screen I usually watch it on.

On the side, I can see the live link but it has no sound.

I know its not my computer because this morning, I tried the watch Live link from KYW. the CBS station in Philly, and it was fine. I could hear the news anchor and see him, just like I always can with WPVI.

I went to their Facebook page to try to access it. No Luck there either.

It could be something with their website. This has happened before.

At 11 last night I tried posting about this on the station Facebook page with no luck.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

This may not be helpful at all and I apologize if that's the case, but maybe they have an app you can download to your smartphone?

Its fine. Yes, it was helpful because you were civil about it.

I'll look into it.

Thanks.

Something else I realized , but it would not make sense if it did.

Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

There was a Windows Update that downloaded into my computer.

This problem with the WPVI live newscast being shown has been since then/

What does not make sense, is why all of the other "Watch Live " newscasters come up fine from other stations, and it is just WPVI that the problem is on.

Hopefully this can be resolved

Chicago what you said is 100% right.

Tried the regular computer again at 4. same white screen that came up.

Downloaded the wpvi 6abc app on my phone.

Sure enough, yes the live news was on, and the anchor at 4 was there.

My guess either WPVI itself added blocking software or the Windows update downloaded something to do so.

Thanks for the assistance, chicago. Its not first choice like seeing him on a big screen /computer, but watching on the phone is better than nothing

Ah, it wasn't nothing. Just a lucky guess. I'm glad you're able to watch now though. Maybe someone more tech-inclined than I can figure out how to possibly get it to play on your computer or tv.

Thanks. I really appreciate your advice.

WPVI addict that I am lol.

New York City liver , Philadelphia PA news addict.

Die hard Atlanta Braves fan, and always have been.

My best friend Adam is always on the internet on his phone. He has an Ipad of course. Yet he said he finds his phone more convenient.

The phone rang while I was playing with this. It was spam so I ignored it . The good thing is during Gardner's 11pm news, the phone is not likely to ring.

I'm going to make sure to hang on to my phone while I'm sitting on the couch from now on.

Sigh! It is not perfect. but its better than nothing

Bingo! It came back. on my computer like it usually is.

It was a problem with the website, which has happened before. It was 2 days.

Now I will be leaving it on past Gardners 6 pm newscast.

And as a backup, I can always watch on my phone.

It would not have made sense why it was there one day, and gone the next.

Hopefully it wlll stay up now.

Now if only the Braves can win tonight lol.

Regular site on the computer has been fine since the 6 pm news last night.

It was probably just the site being down.

Hopefully the site will continue to be fine
