I am in absolutely no way an engineer. This being said, I've decided to take it upon myself to try and make a machine. Although it might only tickle those who are really sensitive or favor light touches, my project still seems relaxing and would give a nice massage. I'll keep y'all updated on what I'm doing and how it's going, I have a very very rough idea of what I would LIKE to do.

If there are any suggestions, please feel free to help out because i have no clue what im actually doing. Also there's not really a product for this, so as I update my "blueprint" I'll try and add specific parts and details so anyone who wants to can DIY it at home. Shouldn't be too difficult considering that's how im making it to begin with.

Here's my late night first thoughts.

What I'm thinking currently is the person lies underneath it. So if the legs are tall enough you could potentially put it over a bed and just lay on the bed.

At the scale of a human and possibly be positioned over a bed, I think you will find that PVC is going to have much more movement than you may want. It is a very flexible material, although it would be rather easy to work with, cut, join, etc. You might be able to find a thicker wall PVC pipe (Schedule 40) that would not be as flexible, but you will probably find that it will just have too much movement over such long lengths.

I have no idea what your technical acumen is, or what budget you are working with. There is aluminum t-slot framing rails that cut easily, assemble easily, and is relatively inexpensive. It is MUCH stiffer than the PVC. You can order it in many sizes from McMaster Carr or similar. They will have the t-nuts and bolts, too.

What type of motors do you plan to use? Are you wanting something that would be steady, or variable?
