Atlanta Braves Star Outfielder Ronald Acuna Out For Rest Of 2021 Due to Torn ACL

Ronald Acuna , the star outfielder for the Atlanta Braves, whose play has been so instrumental in the Braves resurgence over the past few years, tore his ACL on a play on Saturday night, and will be out for the remainder of the 2021 baseball season.

As those who follow baseball are aware, the Atlanta Braves, who came within one win of getting to the World Series last year, seem to have every possible negative event happen during this season, including outfielder Marcell Ozuna's arrest and suspension for domestic violence against his wife.

In a season that has been so cruel to the Braves , this well might be their final blow in the chance of getting to the playoffs this year, save for a miracle move by their front office.

Most importantly, hopefully Ronald Acuna will recover from his injury, and return in 2022 to his extremely high level of play.

It didn't look like that bad of an injury when it happened, but when he collapsed again while trying to get off the field, viewers knew it was worse than it appeared. It was confirmed by MRI to be a complete tear of the ACL.

We'll see if this derails Atlanta's push toward the post season, but the year Acuna Jr. was having, it's got to be discouraging. Hoping he can recover completely from this, I would say quickly, but that is a pipedream seeing as even a partial tear is a nine month to a year recovery at best.
