Not my words but how appropriate, the way he treats his workers.

Some may, but it seems people don't usually become billionaires by treating their employees with decency and appropriate wages, life benefits...

Just look at the AMAZON symbol, is that a coincidence? Cross a SMIRK with a....

It's all one huge EFF YOUUUUUUUUU to humanity and now the Universe.

I'm personally quite glad Branson beat him to it, but it does overall look like a ridiculous "WHO'S BIGGER IN THE SPACE RACE?" pissing contest.

If any of them pay real living wages and take care of the people who ENABLE them to be so successful, that's the BIGGEST success in my paltry estimation.

Edit: And if they ACTUALLY PAY PROPORTIONATE TAXES instead of escaping through LOOPHOLES that'd be quite impressive as well. :disgust:

Jeff Bezos Made It To Space But People Can’t Help But Notice The Dick-Shaped Rocket He Rode In On
"Richard Branson and Jeff Bezos really played 'just the tip' with outer space."

Jeff Bezos, the world's richest man, has finally conquered a new personal frontier by traveling to space with his Blue Origin crew, just days after fellow billionaire Richard Branson did it. No machismo about this at all.

The Amazon founder journeyed into space along with three companions on the New Shepard flight as the first group of passengers to take a ride in the vessel.

But what really captured everyone’s attention was the interesting shape of the rocket. It has inspired a lot of jokes and drawn comparisons to the 1999 Austin Powers movie, The Spy Who Shagged Me — and all the jokes are pretty NSFW.

Thankfully this is my job, so I’m covered. Here are some of the reactions.

#JeffBezos is going to the edge of space Tuesday. Will the rocket bring him back home, or will it drop him at the wrong house and then say their records show he’s been delivered?

Jeff Bezos spent more time in space than Amazon allowed in bathroom breaks last year.

Again, is Jeff trying to tell us something?

Bezos and company were back on Earth 10 minutes and 19 seconds later. Will Amazon Prime ever match that energy?

Jeff Bezos can get to space and back in 15 minutes but Amazon Prime can't get my guaranteed 2 day deliveries to me in less than a week??

People also made a lot of commentary on the working conditions at Amazon.

While Bezos was away, people had some ambitious suggestions that would most likely make working at Amazon a much more...pleasant experience.

At least now Bezos knows what it's like to have to piss in a bottle.

Are we 100% sure this guy isn't working with Dr. Evil?

(Just to clarify the reference: youtube.com/watch?v=lYSOmYyNHpU )

That's too funny, you gents should be working for Late Night. :dancingbanana: :dancingbanana:

Annnnnd speaking of nighttime viewing, here's another perspective from the Universe's current Favorite Brain Child, Dr. NdT!

It's a pity Bezos's crew on the shuttle didn't use the opportunity to shove Bezos out the airlock and let him burn up upon reentry.

Hahaha y'all are SAVAGE :p

And to think in Europe we are told to "shut up about the working conditions in Amazon. In the US, Bezos is like a rock star and no one save a few poseurs would criticize him for such petty concerns; people respect success over there" etc... On the contrary, reading your posts leads me to believe that he seems to maintain the same image on both sides of the Atlantic :D

To be fair, most rockets do look like they were designed to fit in a lady's nether regions, so I wouldn't hold that against him. But these posts are hilarious, especially Bette Midler's tweet :laughhard:

Genghis Khan was more popular.

Wow, so Bezos' European connections are snowing the locals worse than his American serfs.

He's thought of as "successfull," sure, while inspiring at least as much disgust for his soul-sucking manipulation of his underfed workforce. Of course he's a billionaire, he pays his employees next to nothing for their time and hard work, scrambling to fill overnight orders while (discouraged from bathroom breaks[!!])

I hope he peed himself in his cockrocket. :disgust:

EAT THE RICH! THEY TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!

That's all I gotta say to that Ten. :p

Seriously, I love this thread :p You guys are as funny as you are intense, but in a kind of refreshing way :blaugh:

In today's Dork Tower, Jon Kovalic seems to share many of our fellow members' opinion:

Bezos tends to fund candidates that talk about supporting the working class, along with policies that supposedly help them, but it's a facade.

Amazon raised its minimum wage to $15/hour in 2018, which the media often praised them for, but what is typically left out of the discussion is that, as market pressures or legislation pushes the minimum wage higher, small businesses in rural areas typically fall or resort to hiring illegal labor.

Of course, that is ultimately what big business wants. If Amazon and others like them could have their way, they'd raise wages to whatever would be necessary to destroy what little competition they have among small businesses. They've been making a lot of progress toward that goal, in part due to inflation caused by government spending and various COVID restrictions on business.
