There is now no hope that the Dodgers will win the 2021 World Series. That is because the Dodgers won their 100[sup]th[/sup] game yesterday.

All eight times in the past when the Dodgers won 100 or more games in the regular season, they did not go on to win the World Series:


2019: 106-56 Lost NLDS to the Nationals.
2017: 104-58 Lost World Series to the Astros.
1974: 102-60 Lost World Series to the Athletics.
1962: 101-61 Lost NL pennant in a 3-game playoff to a team whose name I won't mention.
1953: 105-49 Lost World Series to the Yankees.
1942: 104-50 Lost NL pennant to the Cardinals.
1941: 100-54 Lost World Series to the Yankees.
1899: 101-47 (American League did not yet exist; no World Series.)
 
Mil...if the curse of the Bambino can be broken and if the Cubs win the world series then I think there's a chance, however tiny, that the Dodgers can win as well. ;)

Hey Milagros, they won it last year, they have to get past the Giants, both are fine teams. I'm from NY and a lifelong Yankee fan, I'm still holding out that we could get to the WS, not quite sure they could.
