It was interesting to compare that view of the relevance of recent history on current events, to his rather crass and boorish attack on the U.S. German ambassador in which he said "you owe us for what we did for you in WW2" the declaration of which, apparently cancells out ANY attempt by the Germans do dissagree with U.S. foreign policy!

I dont think the U.S. or U.K. can be held accountable for Saddams crimes, but as I outline in another thread I am troubled by our past relations with this tyrant.

Yeah, that's always bugged me, too. He was never really even against the U.S. until the U.S. government betrayed HIM by selling weapons to an enemy nation. Oi, as one might say.
