tickling and sexual abuse

The TMF will soon open a support group for tickle lovers with a history of sexual abuse. Why post this here? Simple. Tickling and other fetishes can be a way for survivors to come to terms with what they've experienced. There are many of us here in the TK community. We're just letting folks know we're available. Anyone who has a history of being sexually abused is welcome to contact us for more information.

We'll be doing another radio show next Tuesday (Oct 21) with Ray & Tracy. During that show, we'll discuss the upcoming support group, which will officially open next Friday (Oct. 24). We'll likely share a bit more about ourselves for those who haven't gotten to know us yet. We'll also be sharing some details of who to go to for access to the group, what you can expect in the group, etc. If you have any questions about us or the group itself, we encourage you to listen, join us in chat and/or call in. Of course, you can also post in this thread or PM us if you wish.

There will be a slight wait (a day or two) to get in as we review with you what to expect or not expect and the groups rules. We'll make it as quick and painless as possible. We just want to be sure that we're right for each other before letting you in and having you be disappointed or anything. If you think you'd like to join us but aren't yet sure, you can get in touch with myself, DimpleToes or Dave2112. This way, you can discuss any concerns you may have and be ready to roll once you feel comfortable.

Once again, we want to stress that this will be a safe place where all will be required to hold anything shared in strict confidence. It will only be visible to those for whom access is set. Anyone who's proven an inablility to keep confidences will not be permitted. Yes. We take your comfort that seriously.

We also need to remind you that none of us is a professional counsellor. We're simply fellow survivors who are willing to listen, share and support one another.

Actually, it's Lakota (Sioux), Drew. It means "contrary". There's more to it than this. But, basicly, it's used to indicate one who stands in contrast to the normally percieved reality in order to encourage others to look beyond to the bigger picture. In the intended context, it's also a person who brings hope. Since my being here stands in contrast to what one might expect of a person who's survived what I have and proves that there's hope for survivors, I thought it fitting.

It also reminds me to keep looking beyond myself and my immediate perceptions of things. At least that's what the voices in my head keep telling me.

Tickling is like an art to me. Anyone can use a brush to slather paint across a canvas, but it takes a finely skilled artist to use gentle, light, attentive strokes and get the right reactions.

thank you to venray and his show and to toes and to ann and to dave. having this outlet means a lot. keeping this in for so long supressing memories trying to forget it get hard. Thanks to toes ann and dave it is getting eaiser but still hard to open up. i look foward to the site for us to go to say what ever it is we feel. i talked to toes via YM after the first show and opened up a little. I felt weird going to a gathering with her knowing some of what has happened in my life like she might not want to be near me or anything. I guess that has always been a fear of mine if someone knew the things that happend with me in my younger years would they want to be a friend or even believe me or understand me. toes is a great friend and means a lot to have that friendship. i'm sure you are doing a lot to get this part of the forum up and going and thank you thank you so much for all the work you have done and will do in the future. it will mean a lot to the many who use it i'm sure. talk to you later all kyle

Kyle,, sweety, Dont ever think that, it is only another example of us blamming ourselves for what happen. It was not you fault what happen to you or any one else who was abused. You should know me better than that, I would never stop talking to you over anything you tell me. You know so much about me and my past. That only brings us closer as freinds that we have the trust to share as we have.. hugsssssss

Kyle, many of us feel that people would run away from us if they knew our dark little secret. You aren't alone there. Time will heal this as well. The fact that you're comfortable enough even stating that is a good sign that healing is beginning. We all hae healing yet to experience. But, it will come.

There will always be hard times. But, we claim victory over our abusers every time we win the little battles, like this, of stepping forward. Victory is ours!
