I was kind of convicted to do this because I don't want to try to pretend to be something I'm not.
Intro:
My name is James and I'm originally from the state of North Carolina. I grew up with 2 older brothers and a younger sister. I started having seizures as an infant and I currently am on a handful of preventative meds that I take every day. My family was always kind of musically inclined so I learned to play guitar and drums at a kind of young age and I also sang with a chorus group as a kid. I was baptized Catholic as an infant but my parents changed denominations to a very fundamentalist Baptist church later on. I was home schooled till about the age of 14 or so when I entered high school. In high school I played a couple sports but my favorites were always wrestling and baseball. I had a lot of anger issues as a teen from being sheltered as a kid and I really rebeled a lot by drinking constantly and skipping classes. I went off to a christian college in virginia because it was all my parents would agree to pay for. I was nearly kicked out of the school multiple times for partying too much my first year but I eventually settled down. I met a girl while in school and we dated for a long time before I eventually proposed to her. She was involved in one of two near death experiences in my life. The first was a seizure where I blacked out and fell into the swimming pool and the second was when I flipped my car in the rain on the highway. About a week or so before our wedding she said we needed to talk and she told me she felt God was leading her in a different direction and that we were not right for each other. Looking back she was right and we probably would have been divorced rather quickly because of our personalities. I graduated from undergrad about a year ago with a government degree and teacher licensure. I'm kind of a government nerd and I am a registered Libertarian (I support small government but believe in a lot of social causes like equal rights for all people). I'm currently still at that school working on my masters degree for education.
How I came to the TMF:
I found the TMF through a google search. I had always liked tickling/being tickled and I was really just looking to find out more about it. When I first came to the TMF I thought it was a porn site but after looking around for a while I realized that the site also had more about playful tickling. I lurked at the TMF for a few years before I actually joined. Though I joined I was never really an "active" member. I basically just used the membership to occasionally post and look at pictures and clips. When I first came to the TMF I wanted to remain anonymous so I hid where I was from. I felt guilty about not telling the truth to people and trying to be someone I wasn't (hence the little sentence at the top and it is why I'm filling out this profile thing right now).
Personality:
I'm a pretty laid back guy especially in contrast to how intense I used to be from playing sports. I'm very sarcastic and I enjoy joking around. My sarcasim sometimes gets me into trouble because people can't determine if I'm joking or not. I attempt to eat healthy, but it is an uphill battle against myself. I am a pretty tolerant person which usually suprises people when they find out I'm a christian. I am extremely ADD and I often get distracted by little things. I love sports and kids so I coach numerous sports for the local Y. In arguments I tend to be the first to apologize because I hate feeling like I have upset someone else, made them lose respect for me or made them see me as a jerk. I am also extremely competative and hate to lose at anything even if it is just a game of cards.
