www.weather,com

A "Major Winter Storm"

Is supposed to affect NYC and the North East Corridor on Wednesday and Wednesday Night.

With a "70% Chance of 12 or more inches of Snow for NYC"

Last night the meteorologists on WPVI in Philadelphia and WABC in NY were saying. :This is four days away, many things can change.,

I usually don't take such events seriously until A "Winter Storm Watch " is issued , usually two days from the event.

We will have to see how this plays out.

I know, and I will.

While one can make light of this four days away.

I remember something.

The record NYC snowstorm of more than 2 feet on January 23 , 2016, (Which also happened to be my 46th birthday)

Was predicted and talked about a week in advance.

Before that blizzard, the forecasters discussed it a week before, and it turned out they were right on target.

Usually a "Winter Storm Watch" is issued 48 hours before such a storm. They will say they are watching for a major snow event, and will throw out approximate totals.

A "Winter Storm Warning" will be posted usually 24 hours in advance of the storm.

By Monday we will have a better idea.

I did not even hear about this possible event until late last night/early this morning.

We will see what happens

According to a guy discussing the storm on

www.weather.com.

He was saying that NYC is going to get quote "12 to 18 inches of snow"

No Winter Storm Watches or Warnings have been issued yet.

We will see if such might be forthcoming today

The old "Winter Storm Watch"

Has been issued for the New York City area

From 2 pm Wed until 1 pm Thursday

For 8 to 14 inches of snow.

It looks like they are fairly certain this will be a major event.

We will see how this pans out.

Well thank GOD it doesn't fall on Tuesday. That's when mah stepfather is celebrating his 70th birthday.

We had a surprise birthday party planned! There was gonna be a cake and everything!

Happy Birthday to your stepfather, Debonair.

Glad the snow is not falling in his birthday.

Hope everyone has a great time at the party

The forecast is still for 8 to 14 inches of snow for NYC.

I love their forecast where they say. "Watching a potential Winter Storm"

It seems as though there is uncertainity more than 24 hours away.

It would appear that something major is coming.

It seems to be a question of what, and how much.

The current forecast is saying on the order of an 8 to 12 inch snowfall where I am, depending on whether or not, and for how long, the snow mixes with rain or sleet. If there is no mixing, we will probably get a foot of snow. If some mixing occurs, there will be 6 inches or maybe less.

The supermarket was packed on Tuesday, as expected.

The snow is expected to start in the mid to late afternoon on Wednesday, and continue until about noon on Thursday.

Jeez, like there's not enough going on, right? I know y'all up in the north east are used to stuff like this, but hopefully the storm is not as bad as predicted. Check on neighbors and loved ones if you can and stay safe everyone <3 <3

The forecast on www.weather,com now says 10-13 inches of snow for NYC.

The snowstorm is a bit early. We usually don't get huge snowstorms like this in Mid Dec.

I'm trying to take this as it comes. We cant control the weather, so I figure we will just deal with whatever comes our way.

Hope ya'll stocked up on bread, milk, beer, TP..... that's what we do down south here. Seriously, stay safe - it may not be as bad as they predict (they're just coverin' their rear ends).

I have food Thank God.

As for the snow.

Its hard to tell how much we got.

When I fell asleep about 1 am. (Yeah, I know I never sleep much).

It was sleeting, etc.

Now its a wind driven heavy snow.

The snow is supposed to end by 8-9am

Anyhow, the next town from me, had 6 inches as of last night sometime. I dont know when the sleet/rain whatever was falling, changed back to snow

It looks like there is a lot of snow, but it might not be the "Monster " snowfall predicted, due to the change to sleet and rain late last night.

Edit. They just said on weather.com that the "Total Snowfall" in Queens is 6-9 inches.

It does not look like the monster snowstorm that they said.

The sleet/rain or whatever fell last night, seemed to keep the accumulations down.

Supposedly, Central Park got 10 inches of snow.

This is with some sleet mixed in.

Where I live in Queens, its hard to tell how much we got.

I was able to get out today, as by noon the sun had come out.

There are piles of snow all over the place.

The snow totals seem to be pretty close to what they forecast.

After this, it is supposed to be cold for a few days , and then get warmer.

No more snow is predicted.

Welp, Binghamton where I live got fucking HAMMERED! o_O

4 F'ING FEET OF SNOW! Other people's cars are little miniature mountains of SNOW!

Their gonna be plowing us out all night long!

My windows are completely covered!

HOLY SHIT!

4 Feet of snow

OMG Sorry Debonair.

Makes the about one foot or a bit less or more we got here seem like nothing
