So I'm on the mousepad checking out the content section.i click on one of the photos to get a closer look and I get a message from the us marshals service saying that I am accused of looking at or possessing obscene/unlawful material. I've taken screenshots of the message. It had my IP address and my location. It said my Apple ID and device was blocked. Then when I go to close the message I get another message saying I have 24 hours to get$300 to this address or all my banking and photos will be released. I'm kind of freaking out. Should I be worried? I posted the screenshots on my Flickr page. My username is tklpkl. Can someone please talk me down?

Relax, it's a Scam.
Any site can show your IP address.
Do you really think the U.S. Marshall's service is into blackmail?

Scam. Ignore it. Law enforcement does not work this way.

Myriads

Yeah, its a scam. Same thing happened to me a few years ago when I was on a different site. A boot scan run with Avast found the problem and beat it to death. Nothing to worry about.

it's not real man; happens to almost everyone I know that has ever gone on porn

As these people have said, it is a scam and, speaking from programming experience, they wrote their script to display your IP address but this informatiom is not held by anyone
The worst thing is to actually give money to them, especially on an unsecured server because your transactiok information will be forwarded to them and they would have access to that. They can't do anything with your IP address. You're fine.

Sigh of relief....thanks everyone.

Yeah, if someone really does have something on their computer, like child porn, someone with handcuffs will be knocking on the door. Remember the Subway guy?

Oh, meant to add if you can afford Malwarebytes Premium (I got it for $19.99 for a year) the active protection feature will block most of that stuff. That's been my experience at least.

Trust me man I know what you're going through. I was on a site like pornhub a couple of years ago watching some videos and suddenly this messed up FBI scam popup came onto my screen saying I had under-aged material and everything. It said pay the fine now to avoid jail time and it was like 500 dollars. I like nearly smashed my computer to bits in a complete panic thinking I was being accused of something I didnt do, then found out from some of my friends the same scam pop-up happened to them as well.

Yeah, if you watch adult content on most any site you are open to that. Sounds like you got hit with the same one that got me. Just glad it was easy to get rid of, but it can scare the crap out of you at first.

I've had similar messages left on my voice mail. They purport to be the IRS, or something else that sounds sinister, telling you to call them immediately to pay something or another or you may go to jail. And do not wait. I have always hit "delete message".

And, one of these bozos called me, gave his message, and hung up. Then just after, I got another message from him, but aimed at a different person.... At that point, I did call the IRS fraud division, giving them his contact info.

It sounds like the "FBI/GreenDot" scam, Do you have Malware bytes? I highly recommend doing a scan.

it got me once before. I am just thankful I had my Kindle.

It's just another of many types of "ransomware". It's meant to look semi-legit to fool people into sending money to protect their information. More malicious types will hijack your computer, telling you that you won't have access to it again until after you pay up.
