Feet more ticklish when sweaty?

So this has long been one of my favorite observations - and I'm actually surprised to search and not finding anything ever posted about it here.

My experience is that feet are much more ticklish when sweaty. It makes sense - it makes them softer - that's the logic I can figure out behind it.

For myself, the difference is exponential. If my feet have been in shoes for a long time, just kicking them off tickles.

It's been noticeable with girls I've tickled too - particularly with girlfriends, when you end up tickling feet in very different states over time. Whenever a girl is just fresh out of shoes, her feet have been astronomically more ticklish.

Anyone else notice this? Or care to refute?

Two idea's I'll latch on to: sweaty (wet, therefore less traction) and warm (more receptive to touch).

I'm...99% certain that the warm feet part has been proven. I see it every now and then, not so often, but people using a hair dryer to warm a person's feet in preparation for tickling.

Sweaty would just follow suit given other forms of... well, lubrication. Not that I'm saying sweat necessarily does that but traction/friction should be lowered by any liquid.

Just my thoughts.

The feet being warm should make them more ticklish via better circulation. The feet should indeed be softer after a sweat soak. But you have to hold your nose with one hand, so only one hand is available for tickling. 😉

I've never had my feet tickled when they were sweaty before but I was swimming with friends and they tickled my feet when I was on the deck. The water seemed to have made my feet alot more ticklish and sensative

It might not be 100% down to the sweat but it probably contributes in a similar way to using lotion or baby oil in that is makes the surface slidey, a warmer foot is more likely to have aroused nerve endings as a result of whatever they were doing to get them sweaty, not all the time, but often I'm sure. Especially if it was tickling that got them sweaty.

I'm sure that feet are more ticklish when warm than when cold. So the sweat itself may not be the factor, but rather the heat.

Warm, wet feet are usually more ticklish - which is why I love the warm baby oil + hairbrush combination on a poor lee.... =P

Hmm. I have never been into the whole "dirty feet" kink so I have never tickled any sweaty feet. Warm feet. Definitely! I can confirm the statements about taking a hairdryer to feet before tickling as both lee and Ler. It definitely wakes up those nerve endings and makes a difference.

Warm baby oil and hairbrush combo, Brandi? That is the ultimate tickle treatment!

Right out of the bathtub does the trick for me every time for me. Warm, soft ... and no gross sweat.
