Aimster sending out VIRUS!!!

this is the warning i got:
over 1000 aimster users have reported a virus recieved from downloading files. the virus is said to attach itself somehow to the aimster software and not to the files being retrieved. but it still does its damage to our computers. its said to be a VERY BAD VIRUS that emails your private docs to other people and then destroys your entire hard drive. this sucks!

Can I just say something?

tklxprt, I just wanna say that whenever you grace the TMF with your arrival, I feel honored. You're like a celebrity to me, and I love it when you offer your comments to the TMF. I know I'm going seriously off topic here, but I just wanted to tell you how I felt. Whenever I see you at the TMF, it's like seeing a famous celebrity. I've read some of your stories, and I think you definately live up to your name: "Tickle Expert." Just wanted to tell you how I felt.

? Hmmm...

Haven't seen hide nor hair of this critter, and I'm on there way too much. However I just got that old Snow White and the 7 Dwarves chestnut in an e-mail again. Will look into this and see if an appropriate remedy is already posted at one of the virus centers.... and I would assume that Aimster itself is "scrubbing' its downloads if this is the case, even as we speak(write). Q

I don't know if this would be the same virus but I just installed Aimster and left it in my startup folder. Next time I started my computer my hard drive started spinning out of control and wouldn't stop. I took it out of my start-up folder and haven't touched it since. I wasn't sure what to make of it so I left it on my hard drive. Now I think it is time for a virus scan..

I haven't seen any signs of a virus yet, but Aimster HAS been slowing up my computer a bit. Plus, Aimster's Guardian always brings up the SAME choices every time i enter in "tickling". What should i do with this thing?
