Game Notes

DETROIT'S SEAN CASEY HAS LEFT THE GAME IN THE TOP OF THE SIXTH INNING WITH AN APPARENT LEFT CALF INURY.

Game one is over. The Detroit Tigers ( the team that Natural Tickler, a Cubs fan, called a mirage ) has gone up 1-0 in the ALCS with a 5-1 victory over the Athletics. Brandon Inge went 3 for 3 with a homer off losing pitcher Barry Zito. Ivan Rodriguez added a solo homer as well. But the A's shot themselves constantly. They went 0 for 13 with runners in scoring position and hit into a League Championship Series record 4 double plays. Nate Robertson went 5 innings and gave up no runs on 5 hits and struck out 4 including striking out 3 in the 4th inning after runners were on 2nd and 3rd with no one out. The game was handed over to the bullpen and Rodney, Zumaya and Jones closed out the Athletics. Game two will be on FOX at 8pm Eastern Time.

Did you think you were going to get it wrong??? Fact is, I said the Tigers would make the playoffs. I was right. I said the Tigers would finish in first place. I was wrong. I said the Tigers would be the Yankees in four. I was right. I said that the Tigers will beat the A's in six. Am I right??? We will see. Let's Go Mets. :rotate: :imouttahe

Pitching. Pitching. Pitching.

Based on what's happened so far, it should lead to the Tigers winning, Oakland is awfully tough however. Keep it rolling boys!! GO BIG D!!!

That team that Natural said is a mirage is just one tiny game from the World Series. The pitcher that everyone said ( including Natural ) couldn't pitch in big games threw his second straight masterpiece. Kenny Rogers pitched 7 1/3 innings giving up 2 hits and striking out 6 as he runs his scoreless streak in the postseason to 15 innings. Kenny's brilliant performance has the Tigers one game from the World Series. Jeremy Bonderman goes tomorrow against Dan Haren. Tigers now lead the best of seven series three games to none.

i was at the game last night in the below freezing temperatures. It was an amazing atmosphere......especially any time kenny rogers had 2 strikes on someone............everyone would stand up and chat KENNY KENNY.

Tigers should close this out tonight..........then they can set up their pitching anyway they want it for the world series. We are gaurenteed 2 days off; but will probably get more.

Bless You Boys!!!!!!
