Megan Huntley Progress

I have not had much time to work on writing since my last post; however, I was able to do some today. Mostly, I outlined a future story that I am excited about. It will not interfere with the publication of either of my current stories; I will write it in conjunction with the next Ashley Grable story, much like how the current one is being written alongside the first Megan Huntley story.

Ok, part 1 of my first Megan Huntley story was published last week! That was around 1500 words, and will be followed by 3 more parts, plus a compilation of all four once the story is complete. For now, however, I am shifting back to working on Ashley Grable. Chapter 3 of the ticklish blonde's tale is intended to be around 5000-6000 words total, split into four parts, and right now I am titling it Working Late, though I may change that in the drafting process - particularly since the first part of ...

The initial conversations in the second draft are filling in a bit more detail on the main character's life than in the first draft, where I mostly skipped over them to get to the tickling. Particularly, establishing her job, and working in a reference to tickling (she is a reporter, so not too hard- just make it relevant to an article she wrote earlier, which her roommate is praising). Additionally, working in a little more symbolism, fleshing out the story's environment in a way that implies some ...

It is strange, what patterns you notice in your writing after a little while. My second draft of Window of Opportunity has the ticklee, Megan, bantering with her taller roommate Katy as the two are on the way to a party, with Katy threatening to tell the people there that Megan is ticklish if the latter does not lay off the sass. The Janitor's Closet had Ashley teasing her tall friend Sibyl about work, then getting tickled in retaliation. It makes me wonder if I have a thing for short sassy girls ...

OK, I was hoping to have the first draft done and published by now, but I am extremely dissatisfied with it, to the point that I am struggling to complete it. The opening is done, and the ending is done; bridging the two has become a bit of a problem. Part of me just wants to shelve it and start on the next Ashley Grable story, but I do not want to start building a habit of leaving stories unfinished when I start getting tired of writing them.
