The initial conversations in the second draft are filling in a bit more detail on the main character's life than in the first draft, where I mostly skipped over them to get to the tickling. Particularly, establishing her job, and working in a reference to tickling (she is a reporter, so not too hard- just make it relevant to an article she wrote earlier, which her roommate is praising). Additionally, working in a little more symbolism, fleshing out the story's environment in a way that implies some personality for the 'lers... it was a good writing session. I have been getting good results from taking my focus off 'what NEEDS to happen next' and instead 'what would be fun to write about happening next.'
