I've had a simular problem and one work around I found was to open realplayer click on file then open, then select the file that you want. Also update realplayer, there was an update for it that supposed to solve these problems

well one way that you can distribute files is to use aimster someone shares the files and everone downloads them. Even if there is alot of people downloading at once aimster will put them in a line so it doesn't overwhelm your connection I see alot on aimster but people don't always allow downloads
