My boyfriend loves loves loves to be tickled and it turns him on a lot but he never laughs when I do it. He kind of squirms and breathes heavily and gets turned-on. What gives? Isn't making the person laugh is what makes tickling them fun?

However I can not complain that much because the fact that it turns him on made it easier for me to tell him how much I love tickling too :)
 
Is making a person laugh what makes tickling fun? Yes. If he isn't laughing, he isn't ticklish. End of story.

If it isn't broke, don't fix it. It sounds like it's something that works quite well for you two. It's very much an individual experience. Otherwise, why are some people ticklish and others not?
 
Many people, especially guys, don't laugh when they get tickled. But that doesn't mean they are not ticklish!
I for example, don't laugh either when I'm tickled, even though I'm very ticklish and can't stand to get tickled more than a few seconds. And I have also seen many girls who didn't laugh when they got tickled, but you could easily tell by their expression and squirming that they were very ticklish.

But if laughter is what turns you on when you tickle someone, then it obviously sucks when the 'lee doesn't laugh. It's fine with me however if the 'lee doesn't laugh, as long as I can tell that she is ticklish. If there is one thing I hate, it's fake reactions! I would much rather prefer no laughing, than fake laughter. But that's just me.
 
Everyone reacts in their own way, MANY people don't laugh. It doesn't mean anything is wrong, it's just the way that person reacts.
 
I don't really laugh at all either, but I can get hyper sensitive sometimes. I feel that I enjoy being tickled so much that my body just doesn't laugh. I tend to moan, shake, squirm, and gasp. I am finding that I can become a screamer, but it only happens when the tickling has been going on for a while or has become intense. For the most part though I just sound more like a porn star.
 
That's exactly how I am.

I'm ticklish but I won't bust out Laughing. I'll just Squirm, Gasp, Moan, and Giggle.

It doesn't mean you're not doing a Good Job, it's just how I react. People just have Different reactions.
 
Frankly, I personally don't laugh that when tickled (unless the person is seriously trying to get it out of me), but it still tickles like hell.

Laughter is only one of the usual reactions to tickling. Squirming is another, so just go ahead and enjoy what he does and let him enjoy it, too. :D
 
Laughter is something that has different effects on people. Some can be totally satisfied without it, while others crave it. I fall in the latter column. Then there is the struggling aspect. If someone lays there like they're about to fall asleep, it's not much fun. But if they're trashing all over the place, it makes it much more interesting. For me, I can get satisfaction from tickling someone that squirms around and it's not bad. But if someones really going to get a rise (pun intended), out of me, then the right kind of laughter will do it in a heartbeat! I wonder if that comes from the fact that I have been tickling since I was a little kid. Little kids tend to laugh their fool heads off, so I'm thinking that it has stuck with me. Obviously I didn't get a "rise" out of it way back then, but I always got that "tingle" in my stomach. Had no idea why, but I liked it. So now as a grownup, I have to live with it. But, hey, it could be worse. There could be nothing that would get a rise out of me.....NOT!!!! :laughhard:
 
You guys are right & all gave great answers. He probably just wants to be quiet and savor the sensations. I am pretty lucky because him and I have much more in common than just tickling and we have a deep connection. I honestly thought it was too good to be true when the first time I went to tickle him he said "Don't do that! It turns me on!" I actually at first didn't think he was very ticklish from not laughing and when I asked why he didn't laugh he said it turned him on too much. He knew he always enjoyed being tickled but never experienced it the way that I have and he never really asked girls in the past to tickle him because he thought they would think he's weird. Now he loves it and realizes he has a fetish too and loves tickling me just as much. He even has been asking if we could try restraints one of these days. =) The only problem that I am having is that he gets a bit jealous of me being on TMF but its been a big part of my life before I even knew who he was. This is exactly how I am when tickled. I used to think I was a weirdo too, but I'm glad to see its a much more common thing than I thought!

I think it stems from supressing it as a kid. I always held back my laughter as a kid so maybe it just becomes habit. Take comfort in the fact that we are loving every second of it though :D
 
I'm the same way too - I fight laughter for as long as I can. For me, it's part of the fun because I love being pushed passed the point where I can control my reactions. In the beginning, I will do just about anything to prevent myself from laughing - hold my breath, make wisecracks, squirm, etc. But when the 'ler finally succeeds in getting the first laugh out of me, I know I'm in trouble.

Here's a tip that always works to get me laughing before the tickling really gets going - make a joke/goofy comment/etc. to make him laugh. As soon as his laughs, start tickling him. I find it very hard to control my laughter if the 'ler gets me laughing before he tickles me.

This, this is wrong. This is close minded. This pisses me off. This is a place that doesn't normally piss me off, but enough is enough about this topic.

Laughing is a common reaction but many people do not do that. Just because someone doesn't laugh does not mean they are not ticklish. They simply have a different reaction from the norm. Some people are not "holding back" as other's think. It's just something they don't do.

Jill, as long as your BF enjoys it and you enjoy doing it that is all that matters. It sounds like he's having some great reactions so keep on having fun.
 
The ones that laugh alot and scream and thrash around are having a great response to the tickling but watch out for the quieter ones who giggle a little, squirm around and moan between heavy breathing episodes because now you have raised the bar and are doing something truely erotic that the other person is enjoying in a sexual way and an orgasm is soon to cum.

Not everyone does the same thing again, how many times must I tell people this before they get it.
 
Yeah my boyfriend doesn't really laugh either. Occasionally when I get him really good he does. But it's usually more "ahh's" and "rrr's" and "Stop!" and heavy breathing and a lot of squirming. Haha!

I am the same way unless you get my feet but underarms or stomach I SQUIRM around a lot and cant stay still for two seconds
 
I can only tell you how it is for me: I'm pretty much the same, and for me, there's basically one main reason: pride. I would feel stupid laughing like a little girl, so I hold it all in. It really doesn't mean you're not doing a good job.
 
My boyfriend tickles me all the time and I am very ticklish but I don't laugh either, squirm like hell and smile, and if I try to talk my voice will be higher, but I don't laugh. He is the same way for the most part, very ticklish but just smiles and will groan, unless I manage to get a hold of his feet, that is the only time I have heard him actually laugh from being tickled.
