An interesting “The Office” (U.S.) find recently.
I’ve been listening to the podcast “Office Ladies” with Jenna Fischer (Pam) & Angela Kinsey (Angela). On every episode they discuss in detail certain aspects of The Office tv show.
On Episode 6 they discuss “Hot Girl” with Amy Adams as a purse seller. Already noted by now on the TMF, during the show Pam and her fiancé Roy get into the fight, but by the end of the show Roy’s tickled Pam into making up with him.
However, on the podcast Jenna Fischer not only essentially admits the tickling was real, but that she hates it and she had to struggle to make it look playful (see the transcript. I’ve also posted the spot where the discussion begins.)
What is also interesting is that this episode was written by Mindy Kaling. On the show “The Mindy Project” she conceptualized an episode (written by Lang Fisher) where she tickles her boyfriend who reacts violently (‘Diary of a Mad Indian Woman’.) She also wrote an episode (‘Hooking Up Is Hard’) where she herself gets tickled and yells “Stop tickling me.”
So not only is Jenna Fischer confirmed to be ticklish (and hates it) but Mindy Kahling seems to have picked up on the more dominant, even animalistic hierarchy side of tickling, that is often disgusted as fun, co-creating at least 3 such opposite-sex tickle scenes (where the woman is in the company of at least 2 men) including one where she has willingly put herself through it as an actress.
