Clips4Sale is an awful store

I decided to start this thread in order to discuss about the state of Clips4Sale as a store.
I have been buying videos on C4S for a long time, and I think that that store is terrible.

C4S has had its limitations since forever, but in the last months it got even worse. First of all, one of the most basic features of a store that worked before now it doesn't anymore: searching a clip through the search engine. When I type the exact title of a clip, C4S fails to find the clips, and it instead returns a lot of results. This is really ridiculous, I can't believe that they expect to be paid for a service this bad.

Another limitation is that different versions (for example SD, HD and Full HD) of the same video are not merged as a single product and one can select a different version to purchase, but they are showed as separate products, so it's very annoying to scroll most stores, because most of them sell 2 or 3 (in some cases even more!) versions of the same video, making it really tedious to search videos. I guess producers are ok that the consumer experience is terrible in their stores /s

Then there is the video preview function, which is a joke. 10 second video previews, likely generated automatically, are useless 99% of the times: they are too short and most of the times they don't give a good showing of the product at all.

The new one if the streaming functionaly. It looks like videos are reencoded, and that is done terribly, especially old clips are ruined. Image quality goes down, and audio doesn't work properly. Again I can't believe how low effort C4S is.

It's up to the producer to make video previews, which are limited up to 60 seconds.
You can see some producers don't upload previews at all.
And you can check our site and see that our previews are longer.

The truth is, with all its drawbacks, there's no alternative to c4s at the moment. So we have to accept it and hope it gets better.

When it comes to previews if a producer doesn't upload their own or use the C4S preview creator when uploading a clip it will automatically create a 10 second preview from the beginning of the clip. If you're looking a store with 10 second previews it was the producer's choice to have it that way and not C4S. As for the search feature that is a C4S issue that producers can't fix. The site as a whole as an advanced search engine that works pretty good. Honestly the best advice I can give to people now if they don't want to deal with C4S is to try to buy from producers directly if possible.

For the 10 second video previews I thought that it might be a producer's choice, and honestly I think that's a terrible choice. I don't even consider buying videos without a good video preview showing how it is.

For the search engine there are not excuses, it just doesn't work properly.

Anyway, this thread is not to go against producers (although it's their fault if they promote their products with the terrible automatic previews!), but it's clearly against the terrible service offered by C4S, not only to customers, but also to producers, who are C4S clients. I think that if people resort to piracy more and more is also because of the mediocre buying experience, for example look what Steam accomplished in the PC games market. It's not only about how much something costs, but it's also about the perceived quality of the products, and C4S does its best to make your (of you producers!) products look bad.

That’s always annoyed me too.

Thanks for the info. I’ve long wondered about those useless 10-second previews. Someone needs to build a competing site. C4S has no incentive to get better until a competitor starts pushing them.

Sure, it has some issues, but if you're younger than 30, you likely never can recall a time when there was no Internet, no web, no tickling clips available literally at your fingertips----only a trip to an adult sex shop to buy overpriced magazines and VHS tapes. I'm 51, and half my life was spent without what we have today. Not here to preach, but just a reminder of the bad old days. At one point, circa 1990, I was in my college library looking through women's magazines for pictures of barefoot women and tickling articles. Trust me, you got it good today.

What a wonderful insight on this. Indeed, sometimes we just can't get enough and take what we have for granted.

There are lots of alternatives to clips4sale...manyvids.com, onlyfans, pornhub; just to mention a few.

Yes there are alternatives, but they usually don't get anywhere near the amount of traffic C4S does. I have an Iwantclips and it's rare I get a sale on there. Even with all the glitches and problems C4S is also one of the more user friendly sites. Yes I fully agree they need some healthy competition, but as of right now no other site like it has really been able to compete.

I’ve noticed this, too, and find it really strange.

I’m the same age as you, so I know where you’re coming from. Don’t get me wrong, I know things have come a long way. I was just happy to find out that I wasn’t the only one who thought of tickling in a sexual way. Still, as someone who works in the IT field, I know we can do better. :)

I think this has more to do with keywords that video producers use to attract people to their C4S site. If a bondage producer, for example. has 10 seconds of tickling in one of his videos, he may decide to use the keyword "tickling" for the video to attract more people to his site. For tickle enthusiasts, it means having to go through a lot more videos to find what you want. I see that with all these porn tube sites. Type in "tickling" in their search engine, and the first dozen or so videos are that, but then it drops off to things not associated with tickling. Or it may have something in the description like "tickling her twat" for example. That catches the eye of the search engines too.

That's true. We can complain all we want, until there will be any real competitors.

Obviously this site does well regardless of our audience.

And imagine, these days porn classifications still look like something out of the stone age. It's still all just penetration in whatever orifice you like and you'll get to choose if you see bush, big bust, or ginger. Learning how to use a search engine (or shit, seeing the difference of offered results between them) drastically lowered that bag tho.

Semi off-topic, but it’s wild to type in very specific keywords related to tickling (on C4S or anywhere) ....and god knows I’ve searched enough stuff that every algorithm and analytic I’ve inadvertently generated should know what I like in terms of promoting something specific... but the amount of hits that come back that show “regular” old porn clips that are practically close-ups from gynecology classrooms is pretty amazing.

Like, I’m going to find some tickle material that I enjoy, but then also go - oh, yeah, since I’m here I might as well get the “Vibed To Squirting & Ebony BJ Instruction,” video clip, too, just in case that’s a fetish I don’t know I ever had even after all these decades of being a pervert.....

Oh good, I thought it was just me.

Over the yurrs, I've sold my stuff on Clips4Sale, KinkBomb, IWantClips, ManyVids, and even GenuineTickling. C4S is the only site I see any profit from; I finally closed my KB account after like five years and cashed out my balance. In spite of kingmaker endlessly crowing about how well his site is doing I think I've made $100 from GT over the course of two years. So, whatevs.

And it's sad, because some of those sites - KB especially - have infinitely better features, support, tools, and interfaces. 's all worth nothing if you can't move product, though. So until there's some kind of mass exodus, C4S it is.

I had no idea that manyvids offer tickling videos

Not only do they offer tickling videos, but they actually compensate producers if they put stuff up for streaming on MVTube. It's a sad, paltry sum though; like half a cent per hundred views or some such. I forget. I think I make like a whopping $2, $3 per month off of my streaming revenue there. 'tain't worth the effort to upload new stuff, rilly...

Has anyone ever typed the name of a model in the search and the search said there's 0 videos or stores with that name? Yet when you find a store that the model has done videos for you verify the spelling and you didn't misspell it when you originally searched. A couple times I've actually copied and pasted a model's name straight from a store and went back to the search to try to figure out what I did wrong originally. But the search says there's no videos with that name. This has happened to me a few times.

...their "top videos" feature is busted, too. Whenever I sell a clip it goes to the top of the list on my storefront no matter how many copies it's sold relative to other videos. I've had clips that sold their first copy appear there. It's a joke.

Never mind the fact that that C4S account that posts the "top clips roundup" or whatever in the Videos subforum every week clearly has a bias towards certain studios/types of clips and ignores everyone else.

The one thing I'd really like them to implement is the ability to offer discounts. Every. other. site. I've sold on lets you mark clips down or offer coupons.

If you're looking a store with 10 second previews it was the producer's choice to have it that way and not C4S.

Ayup. And since generating a preview from a different spot in the video is literally one extra mouse click, there's no point in *not* doing it other than incompetence.

Honestly the best advice I can give to people now if they don't want to deal with C4S is to try to buy from producers directly if possible.

Indeed. I have customers reaching out to me on social media to buy directly on occasion. I always do my best to give 'em quick service, a discount, or free material as a reward for their support. For those of us who don't move the kind of volume that the big boys do, it's really the best way.

Just to be clear, the vendors that post regularly on GT do quite well, with any stores you need commitment to be seen and sell. It is mostly not fair, but it's how it works.
It would be like opening a youtube channel and expecting to be the new Pewdiepie overnight :)

the hard truth is that there is a curve and you often post a lot for nothing before reaping the benefits, but it will happen. If the clips are good it will be known.
