Hey Tickle Friends,

I hope you all are well.

The month of May is Mental Health Awareness month. Around this time I tend to think about a near and dear loved one that I lost to the act of suicide.
In my experience, people talk a lot about the person who is no longer here (and rightfully so), but not much about those left behind.

I have never thought to ask this before, but has anyone else lost a loved one to suicide?
This isn't something I am comfortable posting on my Facebook, but I am oddly okay with sharing it here.
I have a difficult time connecting to people who have lost loved ones by means of natural causes. In my experience, losing a loved one by self-harm is a very specific thing that many cannot relate to.

If you feel inclined to talk more about this (and maybe share your story), please feel free to PM me. I am the only person I know who has lost someone in this way.
If you don't wish to share, just know that you are not alone in this and that your feelings are valid.
For those who are considering self-harm please know that there is help and resources out there for you and that you matter, dearly.
If you find yourself with no one to talk with about these feelings, know that I will always listen and help in ways that I can.

Much love
