Have you ever discussed your tickle fetish in a therapy session? If so, what happened?

Many years ago I went to a therapist to try to kick the fetish as my then-wife wanted nothing to do with it. The therapist’s suggestion was to watch tickle porn while wearing a penile plesmygraph (however it’s spelled). Basically trying to de-program my brain. Unfortunately, she was very attractive and there was no way I could talk tickling with her without becoming aroused and didn’t want to strap anything on to my manhood.

So I bailed after a couple sessions and haven’t been back to therapy since.

That's messed up and unfortunate.

My therapist has been positive and supportive whenever I've discussed my fetish(s).

I'm regularly involved in tickling sessions, usually playing with multiple women (my fellow amateurs) each month, and I might never have become so active without my therapist's encouragement to pursue what I enjoy. Being comparatively vanilla himself, he finds the stories of my escapades quite amusing (I don't share identifying private info, of course).

Good to see you getting good therapy with all your tickling sessions. If you ever need any assistance in those sessions, I got you! haha

I hope all is well.

Once I get insurance (yay American healthcare) getting into therapy is the first thing on my list- mostly for non-kink clarity stuff but I definitely want to let them know about this side of my life, since it’s such a large part of it and where I have a lot of issues I want to work on, internally. I don’t know if I can actually say it’s a tickle fetish or if I will just say a niche kink community. I’ll report back in a few months. There are def. Therapists out there who focus on sexual issues which I think helps with anyone who is considering going to therapy.

I talked to a therapist years ago because I thought it was abnormal. She encouraged me to talk to my then girlfriend about it
and incorporate it in to our sex life if she was willing.

Looking at starting in the next month.

Expecting the advice to be to delete all the porn, logoff from this world to a large degree (boo!), a necessary thing as the last few years of being out less have pushed me down a spiral to it being an addiction.

But based on what others have said, expecting the accompanying advice will be to go out and tickle more in the real world (yay!). Which, unsurprisingly, is something I can really get on board with.

I've no issues of questioning whether the fetish is abnormal, zero unwarranted shame about it. Have been around long enough to know that's not the case, there are far more terrible uninvited proclivities to have than one that bundles fun, arousal, intimacy, laughter and playfulness.

I'd say I'd report back with how it's progressing, but I don't think that will be happening for obvious reasons.

I have. They have heard EVERYTHING, so will not be shocked. Hopefully will just work on getting you to accept it as a part of you. Sexuality and interests are all weird. Many focus on some aspect of bdsm.

Never had therapy and know nothing about its practices, etc.------however, I do know how I react to tickling porn, and any therapist who has you watch tickling porn as any part of therapy to "kick the habit" is a total quack. In this case, negative reinforcement aint gonna work because it's hard-wired into your libido.

This sounds strangely familiar: https://www.ticklingforum.com/showt...onate-About-Her-Subject-(FF-m)&highlight=Coda

Wow, I’ve never read that. Just kinda skimmed it but it looks interesting (and long!). Thanks for that!
