Ross awakened around his usual time of 630 on the day before his shot.
Ross and Kayley had two bathrooms in their apartment, for ease, and to get dressed in.
"Good Morning, I am not going to set the world on fire today, I promise. I will go in, get out of there by five, and be home by six, okay, teacher? You won't be here anyway. I know that if I sit in Queens, I will either stay in town and dwell, or end up at the casino, which I do not need to. If I dont feel well, I will come home, fair?" Ross offered.
Kayley kissed Ross. "Yes, fair. "
The couple kissed goodbye, Kayley went on the subway to her school not far from the couple's apartment, and Ross jumped into an Uber to the office.
"CEO here hoping for a quiet day. Tomorrow I will definitely be absent due to a medical treatment. All of the important personal and business people in my life are aware of the reason for my absence." Ross said.
Ross sat behind the desk in his office, just "piddling" with the computer. Ross knew that he was bored out of his mind, but he also knew that the day before his Botox shot was not the time for him to make a move which he would maybe severely regret later. Ross went to the bank, depoited the monthly draw advance into Kayley's and Ross's personal account, and just loosely was thinking of things in his always overactive mind.
At noon, Ross bolted out of the office to Shun Lee. "Ross out for an hour. If I'm gone for more than an hour, you have permission to mark me late in returning" Ross joked to Victor.
While at Shun Lee, Ross ran into an old friend who was also in Marketing, and then told Ross something surprising. "Ross, my friend, long time no see. Join me" as Ross directed the wait staff to bring Ross's food to his friend , whose name was Jack, and their now joint table.
"So,, buddy, how is Miss Kayley?" Jack asked.
"Oh, fine, , how is Donna?" (Jack's wife)
"Donna has been after me to retire. As you know, I'm quite a few years older than you. (Jack was past sixty) . I love my work, but sometimes it is too much. I also got into oil and gas, and I know that you and two partners are in a major company in the Southwest. I would be very interested to talk to all of you, to you about my Marketing company, and to all of you about my energy company" Jack said.
"Jack. Thanks. That sounds like a great offer. I would need a couple of weeks to set up a meeting or conference call. I have some very important medical appointments coming up that I must keep. When those are done, I will call you" Ross said.
"Nothing serious I hope" Jack said.
"More very painful than serious. I have migraines, and get Botox shots every three months. My next one is tomorrow, and sometimes I am out of commission and have to take several days or a week off until I get my bearings. When I'm back in the office, I promise I will call you ASAP" Ross said.
"Okay, fine. Good to have seen you, buddy. Say hello to Kayley" Jack said.
"Excellent to see you too, Jack, please give my best to Donna. " Ross said as the men parted.
Ross went back to the office about two after his two hour lunch with Jack.
By three , Ross was antsy and bored, and needed to leave. Ross knew that if he stayed until five or six, he would start thinking about and might do something he might later seriously regret. Thus Ross said. "I'm done for the day. Won't be in tomorrow of course. What happens after that will depend on my pain and any reaction from the shot. May just rest and work from home for a couple of days. Might have no choice "

"Good Luck, Ross. Hope to see you ASAP" Vic said.
"Thanks, my friend" Ross replied.
Ross jumped in an Uber, and made it home by 4. There was some traffic on the bridge home to Queens from Manhattan, but it was not terrible.
Ross entered the apartment around four, and the teacher was sitting on the couch reading.
"See , teacher, good evening, and nice and early" Ross said, kissing Kayley hi.
"How was your day, market?" Kayley asked.
"Utterly boring sitting in the office, other than I ran into my old friend Jack at Shun Lee. Jack said he might be interested in doing some business with me, but I told him that I have an important health matter to take care of , and would get back to him when I'm over it. He was very gracious, and Jack and his wife Donna say hello to you, my dear" Ross said.
"How nice. We should see them. Its been a long time" Kayley said.
"R, did you talk to anyone "inflammatory " today?" Kayley asked.
"If you mean did I talk to CH or TP, no to both. I told you that I was going to take it easy. I had my fun up in Toronto, and I know that I must get past this shot and feel better, both for my physical health, and my health with you" Ross said, kissing Kayley.
"Are you worried about the shot?" Kayley asked.
"Not so much worried as I know that before the shot works, there will be additional pain in both my neck and likely my head. It goes with the territory. My calendar is clear except to go to the Doctor for the shot tomorrow, and to be here with you. Anything else is a wait and see" Ross said calmly.
Kayley kissed Ross. "Good Boy. I know that you will be back in the trenches ASAP. Once you get the shot, and your headaches get better, you can run to your heart's content, and when I am done with school next month, we will take a vacation. Just a little while longer" Kayley said.
Ross and Kayley had a quiet dinner, held each other for a bit that night, and then fell asleep.
At 1030 the next morning, the couple would enter an Uber to the Upper East Side of Manhattan for Ross's appointment at "High Noon" (Noon was the scheduled time of his appointment)
The day of the shot had finally arrived.
How would the shot turn out? Would the shot help Ross's pain? Would Ross have any side effect reactions from the shot?
All of those would be seen.
