Name a celebrity you've met\talked with

Well...my mother went to High School with Mickey Dolenz (of the 70's group the Monkees) and he came by a visited us up until I was about 6..I have several pictures of him holding me and playing with me in our yard.
I also had the privledge in the late 80's and early 90's of being on Dance Party USA (on the OLD USA network) and met many groups that performed...I also was on MTV's dance show with "Downtown" Julie Brown one time and I was privledged to have lunch with her.
In another phase of my life working at a YMCA in South Dakota I played basketball with on a regular basis Erik Piatowski (played in the NBA for the Clippers and possibly another team or 2) when he was a teenager and when in college.
When I was managing a night club I met many groups from 80's ( I was managing in 1993-1996) and we often had 80's bands since many were looking for gigs and money still to make. Bands such as Survivor, The Jets, Firehouse, Great White, and the like. Too many to name....in 3 years we had at least a concert every 3 weeks with an 80's band.
I also was blessed with meeting Eddie Guerrero several years ago at a famliy wedding.
But my best meeting was upon return from duty in the 1st Persian Gulf war I was privledged to have a medal given to me at a cermony attended by the George Bush Sr. After the cermony he spoke to each of us...and for me personally we talked about 15 minutes. To have the leader of the most powerful nation on the planet talk with reverence about me, and gave his gratitude to me and treated me as an equal is an event I will never forget.

Wow...some of you folks are quite lucky!

I've met, in no particular order:

1) Patty Loveless, country singer. I actually interviewed her for a station I was working for. Nice enough gal.

2) Manny Sanguin, former Pittsburgh Pirate. He spoke at a banquet I was attedning. In fact I've met a lot of ex-sport types at these banquets: Bob Friend (Pirates) Nelly Bly (Pirates) and Steve Courson (Steelers).

3) Former PA Govenor Bob Casey. I had to attend a press confrence and forced to ask him a stupid question. Probably why I hate the media and politicians! LOL!

4) Myron Cope! I got to interview him at our local mall during a broadcast remote!

5) The Big Boss Man, WWE(F) - we did a phone interview with him. He was really cool off the air and pure character on the air!

6) Bob Backlund, WWE(F) - I interviewed him at a local wrestling match. I'm still convinced there is something wrong with that boys head! :upsidedow

7) I also had the oppertunity to interview a lot of the Steeler players and Coach Cowher back in 1994. I've been to games and I've covered games...nothing beats covering a game!

8) Weir 'Al' Yankovich! My hero! I waited in line with no pass just get an autograph on a peice of scrap paper once! Then I got my phot taken with him once! I also have in "autobiography" autographed by the entire band and him.

Wow, awesome list of met celebrities and such people

Thought of 2 more when i was at the rec, both school related

Michael Turner-Current backup to Ladanian Tomlinson in san diego, highest drafted player in NIU history, most notable moment in his nfl career was this season with an 88 yr td run to help seal the game against the colts for their first loss

PJ Fleck-was practice squad for san fran, was supposed to have made it to the team, i had class with him, actually debated in that class....yeah he kicked my arse

Christian singer Ray Boltz(twice)-he played at the Civic center and I went to the concert each time. After the concert, we got to talk to the singer.God, was I tempted to tickle him the first time, rub his head the 2nd, cause he shaved his head bald.

singer Andy Griggs: We used to have Family Fun Fair in the mall. The concerts were free. I stood in line for 30 minutes and finally got to meet him. Again, I was tempted. Especially since I stood behind him for the picture.

singer David Lee Murphy: same event, year 2000. I wasn't tempted that time. I hadn't gotten into the tickling world yet.

singer Donna Fargo: Same event, different year. She was dressed beautifully that day and it was freezing cold.

singer Lacy J. Dalton: same event, different year.

Christian Singer Larnelle Harris: Met him at Square Fair one year. Nice guy but shy.

Confederate Railroad: Hardin County Fair. Saw them for free

Rodney McDowell: hardin couny fair, different year. He writes great songs

Trick Pony: Hardin County Fair, different year.

I was once in Indian Guides with my son and we went to a CAVS basketball game as a father-son group function. It was also the same night that the WWE(then the WWF) sent some wrestlers to sign autographs. I was standing there and my wife's eyes popped out. I turned around and Michael Stanley, of the Michael Stanley band a very big rock group in Cleve, was standing behind me. A crowd started to surround us. He started talking about things and eventually I figured it out, he thought I was a wrestler with the WWE. I told him who I was and I could see he was embarressed. He just said I gotta go and left. People were mad because I didn't get his autograph. I made a joke, I said," he thought I was a wrestler, he must have wanted mine,".

Ted Kennedy, just shook his hand really, when he was running for Prez back in '79, Told him I'd be 18 before the next election and he'd have my vote (I lied).

While visiting some tv studio in LA in the mid-80's I was talking to a friend who was a security guard at the studio and was giving me a quick tour, in walks Arnold Swarzenegger for an interview with some talk show. My friend had met him previously, and hustled me over to him. Arnold actually called him by name.

A fitness chain had a grand opening in Carlsbad, CA around the same time and had Heather Locklear signing autographs. No, I didn't tickle her or ask the "Question," for her bodyguards were bigger than God.

Can't recall her name, but I still have the ish of Playboy somewhere, An Hispanic Playmate who was an LA cop by day was at a car show in LA, again, in the mid-80's. I made it a point to attend and meet her 'cuz she had WICKED feet! But alas, I was shickenchit about the question.

Patty Loveless is my aunt's cousin, so I've been offered free concert tickets. She's kind of condescending, but in a sweet way, and I'm sure it was not intentional.

Guns n Roses, at a bar here in nowhere IA, after a concert, before "Sweet Child of Mine" was getting airplay. You would not believe how TALL those guys are!

High-fived Davey-Boy Smith at a WWF event in Cedar Rapids about 10 yrs ago. Surprisingly he wasn't much taller than me, but I believed them when they billed him as weighing in at 270#.

Oh, and I myself was on tv (By phone only) talking about, what else? Tickling! Anyone remember the late-nite sexuality show "Real Personal?" They had a show about fetishes, and I was just lucky enough to to be able to ring in. A little over 10 years ago. Anyone who has traded my mainstream tape has seen this. Always irritated me that they got my name wrong... :ranty:

Most of the celebrities I have met are from the world of sports. Wayne Gretzky, Brett Hull, Bob Costas, Jack Buck, Mike Shannon, Bruce Sutter, Bob Forsch, and Kurt Warner. And when I was a little kid I got to meet Wilt Chamberlin, but my mother said I was afraid of him because he was such a big guy. :shake:

this will make you laugh...

The Monkees ... !!

Mike Nesmith's aunt lived a stones throw from my house back when I was a wee one...!!! They were all there many times as I recall it.

I know I've seen others before, like in airports and such, but not met or spoke to them ...didn't want to bother them. Karen Valentine, at Ohare aiport ... 2 actors who's names escape me but they were always in alot of movies with Clint Eastwood (one in a Houston airport, the other at a local restaraunt), and one of the Beach Boys ...again at Ohare airport (I loved changeovers at ORD!).

I met porn star Marilyn Chambers back in the 80s when she was doing an appearance at a local adult theater. Got her autograph(which I no longer have, the "Ivory Snow" pic), she had on a short black dress and black heels with no stockings. And gorgeous ankles!!

Also...

The Judds - super friendly gals, very short. Were wearing flats with stockings. Still have my autographed baseball cap.

Ricky Medlocke from Blackfoot/Lynryd Skynyrd - extemely nice guy, actually looked you in the eye and listened what you had to say.

Michael Sheard (who was Admiral Ozzel in Star Wars), many times. Each time I meet him he tries to give me a signed copy of his autobiography. I was too polite to say no most of the time, so I think I have 3 of them now...

Unfortunately he died last year. It's much more of a shock when you actually know the person.

Well...I don't have anyone that the world would consider famous. I've seen people, but not really met them.

For those who may be interested, though, my brother just met and had lunch with Sarah Ferguson the other day. He said that she was delightful, very down to earth and put he and the other guys who was with him very much at ease.

I talked on the phone with Sammy Baugh. He was quarterback for the Washington Redskins in the forties. Had a lot of good things to say about Sid Luckman and George 'One Play' McAfee.
'One Play' being his nickname, of course when I played ball
I had a nickname too. It was Kevin 'One Play You Fucked It Up, Now We Have To Punt'. I think the length of my nickname kept me from the Hall Of Fame.

Also met and talked with Martin Mull.

Had the honor of meeting Spencer Christian, from Good Morning America.

Chiefs cheerleaders.

KC Chiefs Hall Of Fame quarteback Len Dawson, and linebacker Bobby Bell.

I had a two-minute conversation with Sandy Koufax in March 1988 in Vero Beach, Florida. At the time he was a pitching instructor for the Dodgers.

Note for non-fans of baseball: From 1962 to 1966, he was the best baseball pitcher on this planet.
