storyteller said:I'd like an explanation of Dumbledore's psychic abilities, which are apparent in each of the books thus far.
What psychic abilities? I don’t remember anything about them, unless you mean his ability to use legillimency.
storyteller said:I'd like to know just how old he presumably was when he presumably died. That is, how is it that Nicholas Flamel lived well into his sixth century owing to the power of the sorcerer's stone which he seems to have made with his partner in alchemy (Book 1), Albus Dumbledore? We are never told whether Flamel made the stone and then continued to research alchemy to make another or to learn more and only then partnered with Dumbledore. We are never told why Dumbledore was interested in alchemy.
Dumbledore was in his mid-150’s when he was murdered. Wizards live longer than normal people anyway, usually averaging their 80’s and 90’s, instead of their 60’s and 70’s like us. Dumbledore was a particularly learned and powerful wizard, so had an even longer lifespan.
storyteller said:I also wonder about the faithful relationship between Dumdledore and Fawkes. No, not unusual for a pet to be loyal to his master, but for a pet to be so loyal as to know when others are being loyal to that master (Book 2)? Basically, I wonder whether Dumbledore has some essence of phoenix in him and perhaps that's why he was interested in alchemy (to learn more about himself). It seems likely to me that Fawkes and Dumbledore's brother will have larger roles in Book 7, whether Dumbdledore makes a physical reapparence or not.
Phoenixes are animals, but exceptionally intelligently and magically instinctive ones. Fawkes might not have what you would call human sentience, but he’s still able to react in ways you wouldn’t expect an animal to.
storyteller said:Further, isn't it interesting that Fawkes gave two feathers only that ended up residing in Voldemort and Harry's wands? Did Dumdledore foresee a general picture of what would happen in the future at some distant time in his past and attempt to influence the outcome through Fawkes, even if he didn't know the specific players ahead of time?
Possibly, although doubtful considering that Dumbledore has such a low opinion of divination.

Neville’s parents are still alive, albeit mentally handicapped.
