I guess that's better than "ignorant all the time" huh? Especially about racial tensions and issues in America. As a black man, you should know better! Just because you redefine a word doesn't mean that the original definitition has changed. Calling a black man a pimp is about two cuts above slinging the "N" word around! That is unless he is actually a pimp, then it is a compliment to him even though he is the bottom feeding scum of the earth!

You need to educate yourself before popping off words that have negative connotations.

You knobjockey. How dare you lecture me with your self-righteous, fucking babble. Ignorance is bliss, ey, thinking you're the only race of black people who've had to deal with hardship.

Maybe you should re-educate yourself, Kis123, or stop thinking about yourself so much and consider what else has happened outside your fucking square.

The 'pimp' thing with Bugman was a joke, and it was taken like that, so there was no need for things to escalate like this. But if you wanna fucking argue with me, insult me, and make yourself look like a fucking idiot, then go right ahead.

Master Paladin is right, words get thrown around, and if you looked at the context in which things are said, then you might not lose the plot so often.

Pimps stem from everywhere, and if you don't want people using the word out of its true meaning, then perhaps you should write 50cent a letter of complaint.

Cuz he's a "motherfuckn P.I.M.P."

there are a lot of explosive words and phrases and sometimes there said innocently especially when we're talking from 2 different parts of the world. Things that happen here may not happen in Australia. I seen to understand both arguments but then again I was a police officer in the south bronx.

It is becoming obvious that ignorance expands the globe and isn't just an American issue. The word isn't cool and young, it's old and conjures all sorts of abuse and negativity. Trying to cover it up by being insulting doesn't make it any better.

Now who is the one being ignorant?

It wasn't a joke to me and to several other black members who have read it. Nothing funny about it at all especially coming from someone who says he's black!

Go ask Don Imus and Michael Richards how funny their comments were.

Personally, I would not even compare the word "pimp" to the "N" word. I do not use either, but I cannot imagine the two words being equally offesive.

Do you feel that the continued racial tensions are being revisted through assumptions and false accusations of ignorance? I mean, if the word "pimp" was stated, then ignored, would we being revisting the suggestion of racial tensions, or are you bringing the tension to yourself without cause? I am not being a smartass, I am just curious. I have never been a part of discrimination for my family moved to this country in the mid 60's; they came from a farm in Austria, did their own work and respected every man and woman as their equal. They have taught me to do the same.

You don't have the experience to compare the two-and that's good as far as I'm concerned.

I've answered this repeatedly in this thread. There are others besides me who didn't like the comment. I'm the one who posted my offense to it. I don't control what other people do so if they choose not to step up that is their business.

It would be sweet if he just cleaned up his comment and INITIALLY said it was a joke. He decided to be rude and obnoxious and it only made matters worse.

'Nigger' and 'Pimp' do not have the same offensive value.

Being Aboriginal, there a racist words towards my people all the time, and I can promise you, 110%, I am very very fucking proud of my race.

I copped words like, 'Abo', 'Bung', 'Petrol-sniffer', 'Coon', I could keep going.

The difference between your people and my people? We do not go around calling each other' Bung', or 'Coon', or 'Abo' like some African Americans call each other 'niggers'. There's self-respect there. We refer to each other as 'Koori'...a traditional Aboriginal word.

Now, you wanna talk about ignorance???? How can you tell me off for using the word 'pimp' when the very people you are sticking up for are the same people referring to themselves as 'pimps' and 'niggers'?

Is there a fucking double standard there or am I just clearly insane?

So, for the third time, spare me your goddamn lecture, Kis123, and tell your posse that if they're gonna bitch and fucking moan in a PM, they should take the initiative you have taken and say it to my face.

PS. This 50cent song SUCKS!

The only difference is he is getting paid for his ignorance!

Yes they should, but they wouldn't nearly be as nice as me, trust me.

If you don't like what I have to say to you, the ignore function works just fine or you could always unsubscribe.

I don't control others' ignorance so if black people want to refer themselves to stereotypes, that's their choice. It obviously isn't mine, so what is your point actually?

Blowing steam out of your ears and rudely swearing at me isn't going to change a thing. But if that makes you feel better, knock yourself out!

Oh, I never said those words were of equal negative connotations. You're so busy knee-jerking at me that you don't THOROUGHLY read first.

You really should work on that temper of yours; very distasteful to display in public..........:bugeyed:

I smell a mod intervention...

Good, it should be shut down anyway!

I'm pretty much done here anyway; maybe next time someone wants to sling the word "pimp" around, they'll think first and choose not to do it!

Like I said, Kis123, it's all about context. And I'm not angry at all, just to clarify.

I really really just wish you understood context, yeah? Cuz you've made a massive thing out of nothing, Kis123.

Well Bugman, if you were indeed compared to Tyler Perry, consider it a HUGE compliment!! Tyler Perry is a movie producer/director who has full ownership of all his movies thru Lions Gate Entertainment

His first movie, Diary of a Mad Black Woman, grossed $50.6 million. His second movie opened at number 1 with $30.3 million and that film eventually grossed $65 million. His next project for Lions Gate, Daddy's Little Girls, starring Gabrielle Union, was released in the U.S. on February 14, 2007. It grossed over $31 million. His fourth movie Why Did I Get Married?, which was released on October 12, 2007, opened at # 1, grossing $21.4 million at the box office that weekend. Perry's 5th film, Meet the Browns, which was released on March 21st 2008, opened at #2 with a $20 million. And his 6th film The Family That Preys grossed over $35.1 million it's first weekend.

Not sure what you do for a living or who your customers are... I'm not even sure what you look like, but if you're anything like Mr. Perry... you're in there like swimwear
:cheesy:

I am currently in an arm cast for a dislocated elbow, please do not use the word sling. It offends me.

My point is, taking offense to a word usually gives that word more power than its original intentions.

The thing is, I have not seen kis123 online once during this whole debarcle.

She just sneaks in here and drops some gibberigoo, before disappearing again and waiting for my response.

She must be hiding in the shadows.
