So what exactly is it about marjuana that turns people on?

Besides the obvious: it heightens your senses, relaxes you and makes you feel hyper connected, there are also physiological effects.
i know it activates anandamide (cannabinoid neurotransmitter) and releases dopamine.

Actually, as i understand it can also have the opposite affect where it frees one from sexual desire (great for monks and priests huh?! lol)

Trying to better understand how Neurochemistry, hormonal systems and brain regions such as the temporal lobe are affected by both marijuana and sexual arousal.

what are your thoughts?
 
For me:

-Shuts off my internal chatter so I can relax and be in the moment - able to focus on sensation rather than thoughts
-Heightens sensitivity
-Produces a low alpha to high theta brain wave pattern that makes me feel kind of...dreamy...which makes it much easier to get into a fantasy

But it depends on the type of strain. There are two main ones - one produces a heavy body high that usually makes me too relaxed for sex (I end up drifting off to sleep). The other produces a more mental high that is very conducive to getting frisky.
 
That's pretty much the same for me too. Sex whilst high is great if you're not too relaxed or out of it. I find the sensations to be more intense, and the climax.

Pot has never made me horny or heightened any sort of sexual encounter in all the times I have smoked it.

I usually end up giggling madly at everything like a schoolgirl, drink ungodly amounts of Cherry Pepsi and crash on the couch watching old Ed Wood movies.

But that's just me I suppose.

It depends really on how much you smoke. If I smoked once a blue moon, I'd end up doing the same thing.

that's kinda like me, except it was the crappy t.v. shows like Beast Master and Mutant X.

the only type of pot i ever came across inhibited my libido. though it did help me focus better on some of my gaming projects and helped me sleep.
