ok ive been guility of overreacting the last 2 weeks about my team (steelers) for their horrible losses aganist 2 teams that shouldnt have been a problem.

But i sit back and remember all the teams that start off great every year and dont make it or the teams who start awful and make a playoff run.. remember the jets last year? 8-3 first team to top the titans and people were handing them the superbowl.. didnt even make the playoffs

so im looking for other people ready to call the season dead for their teams, or people who are fans of teams who are way out playing their hopes (denver, cincy)

anyone else gulity of overreacting this early?

As a Saints fan (and the 40 years of losing that go with it), I take everything one game at a time. This is the most confident I've ever felt in the team, because they are doing the things they've needed to do for years to win. Beyond that, the Steelers are still the team that won it all 8 months ago, they are just having problems closing games out. Being outscored 24-0 in the fourth quarter will kill you all the time. That can become a disease if you let it fester, but I think they're fine. I think they'll get their shit together and start making it happen.

As for Denver, where I live now, I think they are happy to know they can win without what they "thought" they needed. I don't think they are going to make the playoffs by any stretch, but they know they have something to build on. I'm not a big Orton guy. It'll be interesting what they do beyond the season putting the pieces together.

If the Jets went 16-0, I wouldn't just hand them a playoff spot. The Jets could fuck up a wet dream. So when they were 8-3, I STILL wasn't drinking the green Kool-Aid. Besides, I knew Brett Farve would fuck it up. I was the ONLY one who was saying it.

I want Del Rio gone. he has failed my Jaguars. They play to conservative for most of the game. Not to mention the gm can go with him. Why did we not go for Marvin Harrison as well? we would have had 2 sure handed receivers in Holt and Harrison that would have helped the running game.

But I still have faith we will at least finish better then last year.

you should be happy that they didnt get harrison, sims-walker is pretty good

I feel like sports culture in general has become famous for overreaction, in recent years anyway. Baseball teams are said to be out of the playoff race in mid June on ESPN, and the NFL hypes every week like it's the only week of the year. (Incidentally, I love both leagues, but I am getting sick of people jumping to crazy early conclusions) Since every Sportscenter and prime time game wants to score the highest rating possible, every moment of every season is talked up like it's the championship.

Gets old after a while.

Also, I love projections. I heard more than one analyst mention that after two weeks, Drew Brees was on pace to throw 90 touchdowns. It feels funny just to write something that insane.

my Raiders wont be back until owner Al Davis is worm food fertilizer, pushing daisies up from the ground.

Although the man looks like an extra from the movie "zombie land", he's not dead yet, he's just killing my team........ :illogical

lmao i feel for the raiders, they have a lot of young talent but no coaches to coach them up because no one wants to work for al.. and the descion to trade a 1st round pick in a year where there will likely be a rookie salary cap for a player who wont resign and you will only have for a year was an awful move

My Raiders might have even fewer coaches real soon...the Raider head coach might get arrested for punching an assistant coach and breaking his jaw. The authorities are reviewing the incident.

Until things turn around, I just hang out to see what happens next..there's more excitement on the practice field than in the game......:ermm:

I hear ya on this one..nobody can predict what will happen...as for me, living in Minnesota and the two championships we posses come from the Twins, I'm looking forward to the next Vikings superbowl run...they are looking amazing right now at 4-0...so im really excited to see the rest of the season and hopefully my team will finally do what millions and millions of people doubt they will ever do..Win the Superbowl

Why are the Jags after 5 years still constantly jekyll and hyde. :facepalm.

Jake Delhomme is an interception machine. When you're barely able to beat the Redskins... you're in bad shape.

If Jake loses to Tampa Bay, we'll know for sure if Carolina should drop him.
