This is a strange story..

What she needs is an intervention and serious psychiatric help!

It's one thing if she's single or married without kids, but she has children. They look normal sized, but I wonder how much they're getting to eat while she eats herself to death!

I'm a big woman and I come from a family of big women. We're all big but none of us have aspired to be this way; our metabolisms suck (mine from a lot of yo-yo dieting from the 70s-90s), some of it from depression. It's unfortunately a genetic defect we all struggle with.

But none of us are gainers.....IMO that's a mental disorder that needs to be dealt with from the gainer and the the fetishist. It's an unhealthy fetish that can cost someone their life someday.

She's a sick woman and if someone doesn't intervene, she may end up a dead woman.

:pukefight:

Ugh, she needs serious help. :sowrong: How can anyone eat 12,000 calories A DAY? Just the thought of that much food makes me want to hurl. :xlime:

Maybe she has a lot of children and wants to play see-saw with them all simultaneously.

She's going to die young from an obesity-related health problem if she doesn't get help. 🙁

This woman is a piece of shit. She is what is wrong with this country. People around that globe are starving and we have fat disgusting pieces of garbage like this woman treating foot like a circus side-show act. She is nothign more than a lazy self-loathing human being that realizes it's easier to eat and gain weight than work hard at losing it and turning her life around.

Really nice message she's sending to her kids too by showing them how to be completely selfish and lazy. Basically she's telling her kids that she'd rather be unhealthy with a heart that could fail at any minute, than get help and try to live long enough to see them grow up. I hate situations like this because these people just are so self-centered that they couldn't care less about what their behavior will do to others who are close to them. Whether or not she is mentally ill and needs someone to step in, I can't see how she honestly sees nothing wrong with this. She is just one of those people that know's it's not right but it's the easy way out.

I guess I feel somewhat passionately about this subject because I take good care of myself at the sacrifice of realizing that even though that 2nd cheeseburger or additional slice of pizza sounds delicious, is it worth the affect it will cause to my body if I keep using this logic every time I eat. Furthermore, I worked in a grocery store for 6 years and would see countless morbidly obese people load up multiple carriages with meats, frozen dinners, bacon, snack foods, ect. Super fat people would literally go get the scooters at the front of the store that we had there for handy-capped people and ride them around to shop because they were too friggin lazy to walk through the store.

Although I agree that this particular woman has some serious issues, it doesn't mean that everyone who struggles with obesity is lazy. I'm hoping this is not what you're stating because it simply is not true.

I also do not believe that everyone should aspire to be a size 2 either; the world is full of variety and everyone doesn't have to be skinny to be acceptable as much as the medical and weight loss industries tout and spout it. All they want is your money and could care less about you. I say be yourself and work on improving your situation, but don't wait around for that magic day when you lose all the weight and everything will be wonderful because skinny people have problems too. Do the best you can in your own skin; that's really all anyone should ask for.

We have girls starving themselves to skin and bone in order to be socially acceptable and they get treated better than us fat folks. Weight discrimation is the last social indulgence we have in this country and we're not a federally protected group either, nor should we be. We just have to work harder and be better than what we do than our skinny counterparts in order to get and keep what we have.

Please keep in mind that I do agree that people should work on being as healthy as they can but that doesn't mean a smaller body is an automatic pass to health and fitness. When I go to the doctors office, the waiting room isn't just full of fat people; there are a lot of thin unhealthy people in it too. How did they get diabetes, high blood pressure, and the diseases that everyone wants to pin on me just because I'm big? To be exact, until recently.......very recently, my doctor told me my numbers were better than hers.

I'm on the path to losing some weight, but it's not because I care if society finds me so unhealthy and disgusting looking that I'm kowtoweling to their whims to make them feel better about sitting next to me on a plane. I'm doing it because I want to for myself. So if I end up heavier than average but healthy enough for my goals, I could care less what anyone else thinks. Fat does NOT equate to lazy regarless of the stereotypes that have been cooked up over the decades. Sometimes fat just equals fat; you're better off leaving off the usual additional adjectives that are tagged on because they aren't necessarily true.

But as far as the OP is concerned, you're right, she is crazy and not one dollar of taxpayer money should go to her eating herself to death. She's obviously sick and needs some serious help.

THIS IS DISGUSTING.

I have heard of people getting so big that emergency personal had to cut out a bigger doorway in order to get them to a hospital.:disgust:

Okay, you don't need to get one of those "what i'm saying about her pertains to everyone demeanors." If a person purposely trys to continue getting fatter for sport, especially when they should be trying to improve their health for their children, they are pieces of shit. If you don't care if you die before 50 with two children, and you basically spend your days eating, thus clearly not living even a semi-active lifestyle, then the person is a lazy sack of garbage.

What a disgusting, useless excuse for a person.

Dude, I could not have summed it up any better. And yes, me and you will put up with remarks from people on here about blah blah blah, heavy people aren't all lazy and this and that. Truth be told, being obese (notice I said obese, and NOT simply heavy) is being lazy, it's saying I'd rather sit on my ass and eat than get up and take a walk or exercise. Obesity is not a disease. A physically active person does not weight 400 pounds. Sorry, those that disagree can go ask a doctor. If you exercise regulary and watch what you eat you do not balloon up to 400 pounds or more.

If a being a slacker and not working is not a disease, then neither is obesity. It's all about making an effort to sacrifice something in order to receive something better in return. A slacker sacrifices sitting on his ass to go out and get a job to improve his life. An excessively obese person must sacrifice unhealthy foods and time spent sitting around with fruits, vegetables, and moderate exercise daily.

And yes, I know what it is like to be heavy. I ballooned up in weight at one point when I wasn't working and got really depressed. But guess what, it wasn't a disease. Miraculously, one day I got a job, then got more motivation and used up all that time I spent before eating and watching television to exercise or do something productive. Then I dropped 35 pounds and felt not only better about myself, but my cholesterol levels dropped incredibly in less than a year, and I was in as good of shape as I was in high school.

Y'know, I agree with you when it comes to this woman and how incredibly lazy and selfish she is being.

However I disagree with obesity equals laziness. For some people it's more complex than just sitting on your ass and stuffing your face. And losing weight for someone is really fucking hard. I know because I am obese and I am working on losing weight. I've been fat for as long as I can remember. Two years ago, I was counting calories, eating healthier smaller portions, and was walking 2 miles a day. During that summer from May to August, I lost 20 pounds and two inches off my waist. That is it. I'll admit I fell off the wagon after that and wasn't motivated to resume my walking, but I wasn't just sitting on my couch and doing absolutely nothing but eating either. I was active, but not enough to lose weight. Now I'm working on losing weight again.

I also know that there are health issues that can affect someone's weight and making it difficult to lose weight, such a Hypothyroidism, PCOS (polycystic ovary syndrome), Cushing's Syndrome, etc.

Obesity is more complex than just laziness. In this case, this woman obviously is lazy and selfish.

Look, if you admit you're obese, but you're making an honest effort to improve then you are not lazy. Being obese and making excuses why it's not worth exercising and playing it off as a disease as an excuse not to try at all is incredibly lazy.

With that, you'll get no argument from me because I agree.

That report would have been a lot more interesting if they hadn't been so obsessed with "what this will someday cost the taxpayer." It's a woman's life we're talking about, for God's sake. But then, it is Fox News.

Say, do you think this is why Republicans were having visions of 'death panels' in the lead-up to universalized healthcare? Because they knew that's how they would run it if they were in charge? Makes you wonder...

I could care less about the tax payers part of it. Our tax dollars pay for murderers to stay alive and well in prison, getting meals and exercise time too, so that part don't get to me. It's just the blatant disregard for a person's own well-being that digusts me with this situation.

I agree with Bugman about this. This goes beyond her eating herself to an early grave. Though, I agree with you mass, that obesity is not a disease, I know there are other diseases that people have that lead to obesity as a coping mechanism. She may feel she's not worth it so what's the point. Honestly, if other people have cast her aside as quickly as you did, I don't blame her for her reaction to it. I'm not saying it's right, i'm saying I don't blame her. Everyone has their own way of coping with things. Is it always the right way?, definately not. That's why people like that need help. To see they ARE worth it, and if she doesn't get help for herself, she needs to alteast do it for her kids.

You know I had a very much different response to this, but I can see it's just not worth it. You already have it ingrained what you're thinking and that's not going to be changed, especially since you lost 35 lbs. Now you're calling a 35 lb lloss "ballooning" and "heavy" where if I lost 35 lbs no one would even notice. Obviously your opinions on the overweight are much different from mine.

I don't care if a person calls me fat; it's actually the most obvious comment any idiot with decent eyesight can make. What burns my shorts is when I or the general population of fat folks like myself are referred to as "lazy." You don't know me and what I go through every day--lazy people don't endure anything. They sit on their couches and blame the world for their problems; I don't do that and I know other fat folks like me who don't either. They're hard working people with families and loved ones. They have obligations they take care of everyday and they don't stand around looking for handouts--now that's what "lazy" people do. And there are a lot of lazy people in skinny bodies sucking up our tax dollars on welfare and other social programs. But because they're not in fat bodies you don't presume their lifestyles just by looking at them now do you?

What really bothers me most is that media attention is always placed on the obese who eat the wrong things and live in a fast food drive through. I have a relative whos primary meat is chicken-usually baked. She doesn't eat many sweets and plenty is practically a vegetarian. She doesn't live in the fast food drive through (neither do I at that matter). She's been big her entire life and is now a candidate for gastric bypass surgery. But the media or the medical community doesn't do well in addressing weight issues in these instances. It's much easier to blame the patient than to find viable alternatives other than the so-called typical. It gets really difficult for some to think outside the box-just easier to call all of us fat and lazy. I'll take the fat because that is the truth, but the lazy, I'll call BS on it every time!

For those of you who have been trained to think that's some sort of quick fix magic bullet, you couldn't be further from the truth. The candidate has to take doctor-approved courses, must lose weight BEFORE surgery, and numerous other tasks. After surgery, she'll suffer from vitamin D and other deficiencies for the rest of her life as well as any surgical complications in the immediate aftermath or in the future. That's not a quick fix folks, that's a life altering process that some have died from. Now that's putting your life on the line in order to lose weight.

It's easy to use the woman in the OP to finger point and identify an entire population of folks but it's just another example of discrimination and prejudice that is still allowed in society. I have no sympathy for her because she gives all us a bad name as a woman and as a large sized person. She personally makes me sick and I feel badly for her children. But don't lump me and others in the same category with her, because she doesn't represent me and my life at all.
