It is very sad, indeed. I posted a response to that thread and have been looking for it ever since. Then I replied to this message in your new thread. I typed up my response and hit "submit reply" and I get an error message saying the thread has been locked?! It doesn't get any sadder than that. As for your decision to block, I say that if it improves the quality of your experience here at the TMF (and I have to believe it will), then go for it. I can't in my wildest dreams imagine anything worthwhile you could possibly be missing by doing so. Break out the bricks and mortar, buddy! 🙂

Relax, man, I'm just kidding. Sorry to hear aboot the cont'd feud b/w you and the Ice-man, though. It's like freakin' Palestine on this board sometimes...

But you find this sad? How come?

This is a public board (i.e., membership is free), so we are going to get all kinds of characters here...so what? Live and let live, I say. Ignoring another member b/c they continually get on your nerves is nothing to be sad about, though I honestly wonder how you two would fare face-to-face, if given the chance. I'm sure it would be much more civilized than the tripe you both sometimes spew...not that I'm judging or anything 😛 (hey, I'm one the worst culprits on this board, and damn proud of it!)

Besides, I sometimes get the feeling that some members here believe they are testifying b4 Congress when they post. You are not. So, please, get over yourself, and if someone else has something particularly nasty to say aboot you, then respond in kind or, as Steve is doing, just ignore them or place them on an ignore list.

No harm done and you can continue posting as one normally does.

Blocking someone who bothers you makes you the winner. Announcing that you are blocking him makes him the winner, in my opinion.
 
There are no winners when people can't just agree to disagree with one another and move on instead of making snarky comments that have nothing to do with the original post....Sorry Jim..ya have to wait until the kids go to bed before you try to have an adult conversation.

jen i don't get your point. my thread was a request for info, and an explanation of why. i don't see how he wins?

moses, you ask why it is sad for me. i don't believe in sensorship, and this is the worst form of sensorship to me. i feel everyone should be able to speak their mind, even if they disagree with me.
so to take this step just goes against my normal inclinations.
i'm really more sensitive than all but a few here would think. i'm not the hard line ogre some believe me to be. yes i am opinionated, but i also recognise that others are too, and have a right to be.

OJ: In your Profile, there is a button next to "Edit Buddy List" that says "Edit Ignore List." Put someone there, and you never see a post from them again. In a sense, you blocked them.

Incidentally, Drew Barrymore has been on the TMF for years now, screaming in ALL CAPS how badly she craves some tickling, but everybody has her on their "Ignore" lists. Pity.
