new years traditions?

what are the traditions youve always had, or newly started for new years? my family has always eaten ham, blackeyed peas and sweet rice.

Growing up in the 1960's we always watched the Dick Clark and Guy Lombardo specials on New Years Eve. Good times.

In Pennsylvania..................................

it is eating pork and sauerkraut with mashed potatoes on New Years Day.

It used to include a pork dish of some kind (western ribs or pork roast smothered in BBQ sauce). Since I no longer eat of the pig, it was turkey meatballs with onions and garlic smothered in BBQ sauce along with some shrimp and cocktail sauce. Timmy the cat had as much fun eating as I did....but he didn't get to drink the New Years vodka special!

I like it!!

But no more pork in my diet.......but I can live vicariously through someone else!!

I do a new years day tradition of chinese take out and anything else to cure a hangover, lol.
