Hindi language cinema.
The word was created from "Bombay" (the center of the film industry in India) and "Hollywood."

Now that the pronunciation of that city's name has been corrected to the transliteration "Mumbai," I have been disappointed that the nickname was not changed to "Mollywood." 😛
