My team is the Jets. We play the Kansas City Chiefs in Kansas City. Not an easy task. I predict that the score to be Chiefs 21- Jets 20. Also I am picking the Lions to in fact, beat the Packers. How can you say no problem? You think the Lions are going to roll over for you guys? :wow: I think the Lions come out the gate with a 24-17 victory at home in Detroit. :wowzer: You must believe that the game is being played in Green Bay with the temp at about 5 below zero. :shake: Lions will prevail in Detroit. :Hyrdrogen I think for you ticklishfan and I we will have fun with these games all season long. :rotate:

ticklingfeet it sounds like you have no faith in the packers. The lions are a pretty good team but there in trouble at the quarterback position, and it dosen't matter how many star wide receivers you have if the quarterback can't get you the ball. I was at the packers training camp they looked great, the backups weren't to good, but I think they'll improve on defense especially with jim bates as the defensive coordinator. The packers beat the lions both times last year, blowing them out in one game. I predict the packers to roll over the lions with there great offense. Packers win 34-17

Guess what? In all the camps they all look great. Your team will win 8 games this year. Nine at the most. But this Sunday will not be one of the 8 or 9 wins. Besides, I am not the one who needs to have faith in the Packers. I have my own problems having faith in the Jets. I need not take on another teams problems. Besides what makes you think you can go into another teams building on opening day and beat them like rented mules? The Lions will play with pride. 34-17? You aren't even giving them a chance in their own building. We will find out Sunday.
Well I started the season 0-1 as the Patriots beat the Raiders 30-20. The spread was 7 1/2 and I said take the Raiders and the points. Well I just hope I do better on Sunday. Darn those Patriots. BTW, that is 18 straight home wins for the Patriots. 😱

I give credit were credit is due, the refs played a strong game for the pats. They were my mvp's for the pats 2nite.
BTW the rule changes are nice; cant cover in the red zone and dont even think about tackling anyone and holding is alright for some teams but not others.

Could of been worse if C Woodson wasnt playing. Say what you want about him but let his game his game have the final say; 1 catch against him for something less then 5 yards David Givens didnt have a catch on him in the first half then the second half he had Branch covered. I hate to bet against the Raiderz next game.

I bleed Silver and Black

You know everyone, I have the football package to compliment the baseball and hockey package and I spoke with my brother in Georgia last night and he has the football package. He calls me up and asked, if I was ready? I would have thought he knew me better than that. I still do not like them starting the season on Thursday but I am ready. I still say for Thursday, Patriots 24- Raiders 20. Take the Raiders and the points.

looks like your lost on that one, buddy 😀

I acknowledged that in an earlier post.
To german: as much as I wanted the Raiders to win that game, I must admit that the Raiders played a poor game. It is that simple. Are you blaming the Refs for Kerry Collins interception ( or fumble not sure how they scored that ) that lead to the Pats TD when the score was 17-14? The Raiders made enough mistakes to be credited with the defeat all by themselves. How about the Raiders stop trying to force the ball into Randy Moss when he is being triple teamed. :ranty: Don't blame the refs. The Raiders played a DUMB game.

thanks cabanaboy, good luck to the lions too. the game yesterday was a pretty good one. The first half was great but the second half was kind of dull. Randy Moss did a good job, so did Tom Brady. Ok ticklingfeet, you can think what you want about the Packers, I know them better then probably anyone on this site. The lions haven't proved themselves, to be much of a challenge in the past besides one game last year. We beat them like rented mules almost every year. What's the difference in there team this year? They have one more good receiver on the team with mediocre running and passing. Green Bay had a top 5 offense. Detroit hasn't improved much on defense and there starters got destroyed by the rams who are also an elite offense. If the lions do win it will be a close finish, but I expect the packers to win by at least to scores. The jets are a great team this year ticklingfeet, I think they will have an 11-5 or 10-6 record this year

Tru Tru, they played a stupid game. No doubt that was the turning point in the game that int. and there lies the problem Collins head went straight down and lost all confidence - not a Raiders player attitude, a QB change is needed.

But come on some calls against the Raiders were stupid, when Routt had Branch covered in the red zone Madden commented on that coverage and questioned the refs call which put the pats on the 1 yard line.

But seriously the pats will be strong i was just releasing some anger in my last post.

I will post my picks either later today or tomorrow but I think the key word you used about Green Bay's offense is they HAD a top 5 offense. Their defense on Green Bay's side stinks. Las Vagas set the over/under for the Packers at 7 1/2 and set the Lions at 9. Why would they do that if the Packers were that good? That is not my reasons for picking the Lions mind you but it does go into the equation. It has to. Look I know you are not going to like hearing this but your team is OLD. The Lions are young. When all is said and done and all the smoke clears the Lions will be fighting for the playoffs and the Packers will be settling into retirement. Lions will finish 9-7 and the Packers will be at 7-9.

wow that's a bold statement about the packers ticklingfeet, if you recall the lions defense was one of the worst last year too. as for las vegas predictions, they have to go with how they team did last year, also with I agree the packers didn't do enough in the draft on defense, so they have to prove everyone wrong this weekend especially against the lions. Why do you say the packers are old, the only real old ones are Brett Favre who is starting his 15th season who is still great and Ahman Green who is in his 8th season who has lead the league in rushing overall since 2000. The packers receivers are all pretty young like Javon Walker and Robert Ferguson. they have a young offensive line, a young secondary and linebackers as well. They are not an old team at all. The lions still have to prove themselves. If they beat Green Bay tomorrow i'll give them some credit, but the packers have beaten them 9 out of the last 10 games. Good luck to everyones teams tomorrow, it should be a great day. I'm a little bummed out tonight cuz my buckeyes lost to the longhorns, it was a great game but the didn't do a good job on defense at the end.

Well ticklishfan I am sticking by everything I have said. Packers have to prove to me that they are worthy. If I am wrong you can bet that I will not make excuses. I will admit any errors I have made.

same with me ticklingfeet, I understand where your coming from. I almost gave up on them when they started out 1-4 last season. If we knew each other, it would be fun to put a bet on that game. good luck to the jets

We can if you want. It is not like I don't get into the Connecticut area. I am from New York. When I visit my son, I can either go down 84 or take 95 into CT.

No your Packer team is not old. That Lions defense really sucks too. Final score was not Packers 34- Lions 17. It was Lions 17- Packers 3. First time since 2000 that the Packers were held without a TD. Not bad for a defense that stinks.

yea I was really surprised ticklingfeet. Two great offenses vs two bad defenses, I thought the game would be a high scoring one, I was shocked, the Packers had a lot of oppurtunities to score and failed. they'll do good this week against the Browns at lambeau field. what happened to the jets ticklingfeet?

If you recall, I predicted a Jets loss. This comes as no shock to me. They never start the season well under Herm Edwards but they have made the play-offs 3 of the 4 years he has been there. As long as we are talking about the Jets, can Chad hold on to the damn ball? He fumbled 7 times and lost 2 of them. Plus he throw 2 interceptions. The Jets went into KC territory 8 times. Four times in the Red Zone and came away with 7 points. Thanks Chad.

I forgot I have to congratulate sultrybrunette. Since she is a fan of the lions, her team really clobbered mine on sunday. good luck to everyone's teams this sunday and monday

Sadira is Lions fan. No Congrats to her? 😕 And good luck to everyones team this week also except the Dolphins. May they get beat 63-0. :couch: :couch:

A few teams i think that may have had potential but are pretty much garbage now in my mind are Detroit, Minny, Arizona, Oakland and New Orleans.

I agree maniactickler, the Raiders will be special if Kerry Collins gets his head out of his ass and they start getting some good calls. Game on the line in the k.c red zone toss that ball to Moss. Im suprised that line judge wasnt shot or stabbed with that call on Moss, so close to the Black Hole. But thats football.

I have never been so happy to see a 'Skins win today.

Why Detroit and New Orleans? What makes you say that? I mean Detroit and New Orleans have the same record as your Patriots. Does this mean that the Patriots are garbage? You make statements but you give no reason for your statements. What have you seen? What do you know? Right now all I have seen is Detroit held Green Bay to NO Touchdowns in Detriot. But then got hammered in Chicago. New Orleans beat the Panthers whom a lot of people think are going to the Super Bowl. Then lose a HOME GAME to the Giants at Giants Stadium. ( Which should not count because the Giants should have been forced to travel ). So do me a favor what is the basis of your statement? I will take New Orleans a step further by saying that they beat the Panthers then the Panthers beat your Patriots. What does that say about the Patriots?
