Ok, here's the deal,

We're currently being hosted by godaddy.com, and they SUCK. The server has all kinds of functionality problems and I've been waiting for almost 48 hours for their customer service dept to get back to me.

So I'm going to bite the bullet and move us again, sometime in the next week or so. The downtime will be briefer this time because I'm going to be moving us to a server system that I'm more familiar with, and we'll have more time to prepare. This last move was rushed because I didn't want to pay our previous hosts for the entire month of april just for taking up april 1st and 2d. This time we won't have to hurry and will be able to get everything ready on both ends for a smooth transition. All we'll have to worry about is the actual physical move and the DNS propagation.

This will be the last move, the technician who's been helping us with this has been using the hosts I'm going to switch us to for years and he runs a vbulletin board approximately the same size as ours.

I'll give the alert when I know exactly when it's going to happen. Sorry for the growing pains, but this is really unavoidable.
 
Well, I'm sorry it didn't work out. As I tend to say, "you live, you learn, you grow!" I'm sure the next move will work out just fine.
 
Just as long as we get a healthy, stable, server, more power to all of 'ya, so no worries.

Sorry to hear this, Jeff. Myriads was telling the room how much time and effort you guys put in last week doing the last move, so I know this is a hell of a lot of work for you all. If you're not getting proper service, and have so many tech problems, this is for the best. Hopefully this time the server company will be better for you. I always appreciate all the time the tech staff puts into keeping this site running. I know you guys work very hard to keep everything going for us. Good Luck.

Seems to me this moving around thing is a major pain in the backside for you and the folks helping you. I want you to know how much I appreciate your continuing efforts.

Awesome that you are doing this move for the community. I wanted to send a small contribution to help cover soome of this expense. Thanks for letting us know about the changes, most people would just do it and not bother to inform the members. It's appreciated that you keep us updated.
 
I think it's wise you made this decision early in the game. 48 hours. That's just unbelievable.

I made the deal for the new server today, it should be set up tomorrow and Ill start the move Sunday or Monday.

Donnie, that's right, just snail mail. I had to leave my credit card company a few months ago and it's been hard finding another one in this industry. And paypal went on a vast slash-and-burn last year and cut anyone with even the remotest ties to the adult industry out. I had my account cancelled for taking $40 dollars for the TMF through them.
