The two beautiful dancer's in the below picture are my two cousin(also dancer's) The one on the right was the girl who got the temporary tatoo!!
And boy did she learn never to get one at the bottom of her feet again!!!
(You all should have seen how she tried so hard not to show it irritated and tickled her sensitive soles!!)

This story is about her experience.

My Friend(yup... I know who these tormented feet belong to) shumaila from North India saw that a henna stall was set up. Naturally, girls love to decorate their bodies and pamper themselves sometimes, so shumaila paid for a tatoo. Her big mistake though, was requesting for her tatoo be done on the not only on her feet but also on her soles. The henna artist said that they normally did not apply henna tatoo's on that specific region(soles) of the body, but never stated the reason: and shumaila was about to find out why ... SHumaila of course insisted that i would be the same thing as doing it anywhere else on her body, so they set to work on her sole(s) (They could only do one sole because she could not bear to do the other). SO the henna artists set to work with a POINTED METAL PIPETTE*shudder*. Think of a metal tip making quick and hard strokes and scratches on the bottom of your feet drawing intricate designs.. "yikes"
In the beginning, the tatooist worked on the top of her foot, and while he did so, she casually conversed with me, but I observed a sudden changed in reaction when the tatooist made his first stroke on her sole. She stopped talking and abruptly shifted her sight to the tatooist. At one I could tell that Shumaila was not pleased with the sensation.
She gripped hard of the edge of her chair and her face tightened . Her toes were forced into awkward positions and her foot pulled backward. She had already paid for the tatoo and on top of that was shy to admit that she was ticklish, so she bit her lip and held on, refusing to submit to the bothersome "scratch" "scratch" "scratch" action of the pointed metal pipette on her soles. The tatooist was barely half done with the design, and he still had to apply a second coat of henna to her soles to darken the design, and this required a bigger, sharper pipette and more pressure. When the Tatooist began with the second phase of darkening with more pressure, Shumaila could no longer control her reflexes and began jerking her knee back at each stroke of the pipette. FInally, the stall assistant's noticed her condition and tried to calm her and direct her attention way from the tatoo work. And with the final flick of her foot caused by the finishing stroke, the torture was over. She of course did not stay for the other foot. One thing she learned was never to get henna tatoo's on body parts that aren't meant for henna tatooing!

The tattoo looks very detailed but there is no friggin way I could sit and have that done. It makes me shudder thinking about it. How did she take it? Was she able to sit still? It seems like it would wear off easily with all the walking. *Shudders again* 😀

Dear God I dont know how anyone could sit through that..It tickles my feet just looking at it <<<<----

Great photos! And I have always been hoping that Indian women who enjoyed tickling would come to the TMF, I really have, if you read some of my older posts. I am such a freak of nature that way! Dallas, too, has many Indian people living here, and I have begun learning more about India in general, buying some of the film magazines, watching videos, going to Indian restaurants and even volunteering for the "Discover India" festival in October. There is so much I don't know, so much to learn, but I have so far enjoyed the process.

Oddjob0226, you are in luck, then

Well you're in luck, cause you are gonna see a lot of me!
And thanx for the warm welcome :bouncybou: apreaciate it!
hope to be tickled soon! :blaugh:

This is the picture of my cousins. The dancer on the right is the unfortunate victim of the sensitive feet and an even more unfortunate victim whose soles were scratched with a steel pipette!

Back when I went to the University of North Texas I took a "History of Theater" class and learned about the traditions of Kathakali, Odissi and so many other forms of dance; the festivals featuring the telling of the Mahabrahta that go on for hours..... it really was my first accurate introduction into Indian culture and history outside of whatever snatches of it I saw on t.v. I own a large book called "Classical Indian Dance" and - aside form the photos beautiful female feet, of course - the color and intricacies of most of the costumes, and the stories of the legends, folklore and religious tales make it something special.

Even the woman that used to work at my dry cleaner, she would tell me about things in India (I never knew skiing was popular there! My impression of India was a place of heat, and humidity - but the mountains, of course! I felt so dumb.) She would have her daughter dance for me - I can't remember the style, but it looked like bharathanatyam from your photos - and she served me my first chai tea ever.

Look at me, trying to be so cool and write like I actually know something...... It is great to have you here!

I could take it.....NOT!!!! I know, sometimes one must suffer to be beautiful, but I don't think I need to be that beautiful! :xpeepsofa

January f/f, you know best!!

January.... U are a girl too so you should know whether it is worth it or not. U are a girl and so U know what would tickle for a girl too!!!!
Nice to meet You January... Now I know that I am not the only girl in the forum. :veryhappy

Hi, Chanchala! Nice to meet you!

I am very interested in Indian culture and Hindu philosophy... although I know that just because you live in India doesn't mean you're Hindu. Thanks to George Harrison I grew to love sitar music which helped spark my interest in India. I love the food, too!

Thanks for the photos and stories that you have shared with us. I had a friend who did Mehndi and she demonstrated her work on me. Of course, I asked her to apply it on my feet! I loved it... it was more relaxing than ticklish to me, though. She taught me how to do it and I practiced on her and my ladyfriend. She eventually came around to asking me if I'd submit to a full body Mehndi treatment! Wow! Of course, time passed and that never happened. She's in California now but if she returns I'm definitely going to remind her of what she offered me.

You have beautiful cousins. I've met a few ladies from India here in Tucson and I found them to be very beautiful as well as extremely nice people.

Worth it or not, I just couldn't stand it! I've been giving myself pedicures since I had my first professional one when I was 16. I almost took the poor girl's head off! All that drawing and scrathing on my bare soles would just be too much to take! :tickle: :feets:

:feets: I would have to be completely restrained if my ticklish soles were forced to endure such an experience. My bare feet and toes are too ticklish for that activity.

Actually, howvwer intricate and detailed that looks, and it would look nice on paper or a painting, it kind of ruins the idea, IMHO. Seems like destroying the natural beauty.

By the way. It's spelled "feet".

Destroying the natural beauty of what?? A plain, pale-bottomed foot?? I think the henna tattoo is a beautiful "feat" of the feet! It's total art! What do you think of nail polish, toe rings, and anklets? It's nothing more than another decoration to me.

I've never understood how and why people put so much emphasis into a body part that provides locomotion and transportation! Yeah, it can provide laughter and even sexual stimulation too, but so can so many other areas of the body.

I wish I knew why I did as well, Kis, but I have since I was a child (I like the henna BTW) LOL!!. I guess it is kind of like the same way most of the members here look at tickling: Im sure many an outsider has stumbled upon this place and for the life of them cant figure out how poking and stroking a person until they are laughing can provide any sexual stimulation at all, yet for many people here it clearly does.
