10 Things I Hate About Tickle Videos

Ok, I'm now officially standing on my soap box.

I’ve been buying tickle videos since 1989. I’ve got to tell you that I think some of the stuff being produced today really out performs what we had back in the day, but some of the new stuff is weak and lacking. So I just wanted to put my top 10 observations of what’s weak with some of today’s tickle videos in the hope that some new tickle video producer will read this and make better choices.

1. The guy keeps looking back into the camera
So if I’m really into seeing the ticklee react violently to her tickling and am inspired to experience a ’happy moment for one’, and some guys is looking back at me from the camera, let’s just say "I really don’t want to see some guys face when I’m having that kinda happy moment".

2. You only see her feet tickled with nylons on
When I see a great ticklee tickled only in nylons and never get to see her bare feet tickled, I actually feel like I’ve lost something. I am preoccupied with wondering what her bare soles look like and how they respond to tickling directly on her tasty bare flesh. I guess I will never understand why tickle video producers who shoot nylon tickling don’t take them off at the end and give a little bare sole tickling for the rest of us.

3. Bad (defective or lacking) bondage
This can be so distracting. When the bondage is so weak that the ticklee is so free to move about that tickling her for any extended period of time is impossible, it defeats the whole dam thing. I’ve seen some bondage in tickle videos that was so bad I was concerned that the model might get injured. Grrrr!

4. Fake ticklee reaction and response
This should just be outlawed and banned in the universal tickling constitution. This makes the producer look like an opportunist looking to snatch our cash without sharing our passion.

5. Very little reaction from the tickle model
Not every model is very ticklish, and that’s just reality. So not everything that’s shot really needs to be sold. If it’s free and she’s mildly ticklish, eh.

6. Very poor lighting
This can really leave the viewer wanting, but with no hope. This actually falls into three types of problems and they both relate to producers still learning the craft. (1) Not enough light - Buy a light kit dude! (2) Light position - Place the light BEHIND the camera and not in front. (3) Don’t shoot with the camera facing an open window. Shoot with the open window behind the camera.

7. Really weak tickling technique
In these cases, I often feel like flying on a plane and doing an intervention to protect the eyes and minds of ticklers around the world. I’m often amazed that people actually put such material out when there are such powerful examples of great work such as TickleAbuse.com, TickleCentral.com, FrenchTickling.com and others.

8. The tickler switches between 10 different tickling items rapidly
Talk about distracting! This type of tickle video totally ignores that many a male tickle may be engaged in knob polishing while experiencing World Wide Wood. This thing of switching for a different tickling implement every 10 seconds is probably better suited for tickle games on the elementary school playground.

9. Once the tickler finds a really ticklish spot, they move to another area
This is almost as bad as showing mercy.

10. Very little tickling in the video
If the video isn’t labeled as a tickle video, then very little tickling make the video a gem. If it is labeled as a tickle video, very little tickling makes it a turd.

Interesting poll. The lack of tight foot bondage is my biggest pet peeve.

I know there are plenty of people who like "spontaneous" (no bondage devices) tickling, and plenty of people who don't mind if the bondage is light or weak.

I only buy videos with "immobilizing" foot bondage and toe bondage. Since such a small percentage of videos have this, I end up supporting only a few vendors.

11. TOO MUCH DAMN TALKING, PLAYING AND GOOFIN AROUND!

Personally, if im going to enjoy a tickle vid, its kinda hard when its nothing but the 'ler bein a goofball and yackin comical shit through it the whole time...sometimes nearly to the point where you cant even hear the reaction of the 'lee. But this is something ive bitched about in 95% of today's vids a zillion times on a zillion posts in the past year. It doesnt seem to bother many these days, but it does me!

jmsdarke, you hit the nail on the head!!! You speak the truth about everything that you have stated and I am totally in agreement!

My biggest complaint is a guy's idiot face looking back into the camera. They are always goofy looking like they never tickled a foot before. There are a few producers that are good for that.

I enjoy masks...Although his tickling methods are a little too fast for my taste and in my opinion lack build-up by teasing the lee, I think that the TIB got it right! He has been in the biz for a long time and knows what sells!

Agreed. Those of us who have this fetish have very few places to purchase quality videos. As general feedback I would suggest not doing videos where the model starts out in hose and then has them removed during the video. As a nylon tickling fetishist, I purchase many videos, but never those. I'm sure that bare foot enthusiasts feel the same way. It's meant to please everyone, but fits no one. Kind of like bowling shoes.....

Yup, all those things get my vote...

Believe me dskodj, you aren't the only one who gets bothered by this stuff. Mostly the problem is that "porn business 101" encourages people to find and cash in on niches that they have no clue about. Combine that with people eating what they are fed and you get the majority of crap that floods our fetish.

Thank Jebus there's still a core of people with a clue that learn from constructive criticism and incorporate positive ideas into their work...rather than churning out the same crap over and over, while giving the impression that they care It's a shame more people don't seem to be able to see through that..

Luvs nylons

As a nylon enthusiast I have to say that I most prefer vids with the models in nylons. No offense to those of you out there who prefer bare foot tickling, but it seems that most of the tickle vids out there are of the bare foot variety already and I'm thrilled that there are companies that cater to nylon tickling.

My biggest pet peave (in addition to the bad bondage) is when you see a model start out in hose, but before the foot tickling begins, the hose come off. Like, what's the point!?

Here are a few peeves for me:

Screamers - The girls don't laugh, they simply scream loudly.

Ridiculously heavy bandage - restraint is one thing, but tying a girl up with hordes of ropes, chains and padlocks is a bit much.

Gags - I want to hear her laugh.

Shoes that are too difficult to remove - Shoes with laces or straps that the 'ler is having a tough time removing drives me nuts.

Highly elborate tools - I'm a fingers or feathers man. Things that go buzz or the cat's tail go a little bit overboard for me.

But my biggest one is:

30 second clips in which the first 15 seconds are taken up by the company logo.

I agree with all nearly all, though I don't mind tickling with no bondage - as long as it is not tickling with fake bondage. Is it too much to ask that a producer using bondage - or getting his female models to us bondage - should also instruct them in how to do it?

The sad thing is that the quality of work is often so bad that all of these things actually do happen.

Another thing I forgot to mention - Not being able to see the model's face!!

I never buy a video like that, but it also often happens that one no longer sees the face at all when the feet are tickled.

I'll add a couple:

Producers who claim, "The most ticklish girl we have ever worked with! This girl is insanely ticklish!" You buy the clip, just to find out she barely laughs during the entire clip.

Girls who 'beg' while being tickled (without the slightest indication that the tickling really bothers them). They laugh at some points, but most of the clip is the lee saying, "Please stop. No, don't tickle my feet! Please don't do that! Haha. Not my feet, please! I'll do anything if you stop! Haha." Not only does it show their lack of ticklishness, it just makes their other reaction to be even less believable.

At that rate, a feature film would cost more than $100. I prefer either membership sites, or some other clip site companies that are at least slightly less expensive.

Also, I'm bothered by the volume of clips in this forum and the "factory" approach. You have companies that are making new clips every week at least, with a different model-type girl in the same exact bondage setup every time. To me all the sample clips in this Clips forum (with each video split among several threads) verge on spamming. The volume issue also goes hand-in-hand with the cost issue, as there must be thousands of dollars of material posted every year or even month.

Just to clarify a few things. Clips4sale does not really determine the price of the videos. They do have a minimum, based on the file time length, but there is a great deal of latitude on the price. The producer decides the price. "Too much" is really a matter of opinion and ones wallet (altough the latter surely influences the former). I personally don't have an issue with the prices. I'm not saying that as a producer for I also spend my money on clips4sale. My pet peeve is when the clip is not worth the money I spent. This comes largely from lack of previews and I generally make it a rule not to buy from companies that don't offer previews. Although, now and then there is a particular model or scenario that catches my eye and I take a chance. Unfortunately, I'm disapointed about 75% of the time. This leads into your other comment regarding the previews being "spam."

Again, I guess that depends on your view of what the TMF video forum is for. Some would like the "good old days" of nothing but amatuer clips. As someone who was around at the time, I would have to say that those folks are looking back through rose colored glasses. There was a bit more amatuer content, but by and larger, there wasn't much content period. I hate to sound like someone's grandpa but we got clips few and far between and we were damn glad to have em (ya wupper snappers!). The days of primarily amatuer clips is long gone. It doesn't mean that you don't catch the occasional amatuer clip, its just that tickling has grown as a fetish and so has the demand for material. If all we allowed in the tickling vid forum was amatuer clips, you would see a drop in postings to no more than 5-10 percent of what it is now. The "factory" approach of churning out stuff can lead to inferior quality, but consumers buying or not buying will keep that in check. Producers will only produce by that model if it works. Personally, I don't mind having a plethora of clips to select from.

Great poll.

The number 1 thing that annoys me is when they take an attractive and very ticklish model and tie her in a great position (that they have not tickled her in before but a position I would usually want to see) and then have her wear nylons.

I know some guys like nylons, but why not do a nylon clip and then a bare foot clip of the same girl in the same position????

What is more annoying is that the only time they seem to try these new positions they only do them in nylons and then never repeat the position again. Two examples spring to mind. TIB (when he ran Real Tickling) made a clip of Molly in a straight jacket being foot tickled, but only with nylons on. That was the last of his straight jacket ventures, a bare foot straight jacket clip would probably have sold better anyway (I would have bought it) and then if might have realised it was a great position.

more recently (now rebranded TIW) he has tickled a girl in nylons with one ankle tied up to her waist, but again only in nylons. why oh why.

I had to pick one but so many of these are on the pet peeve list. There are a few good producers out there, a few. But nothing does my heart good as great tickling technique and a truly ticklish lee. No million play toys, just good honest tickling

As a video producer myself, this thread is very interesting to get the pulse of what the community likes and dislikes. I'm surprised more producers are not posting. You can't please everyone, but there seems to be some common themes.

What's amazing about your statement is that when i mentioned this some time ago, so nylon tickling affectionados were totally offended by the idea, stating that there was already enough bare foot tickling. It seemed so tunnel visioned to oppose recommending the producer satisfy a larger market.

For me, nylons are great, and they're something on the road to bare feet. I try to get every model to bring nylons. So do and some don't. Some are more ticklish with nylons while others (Autumn for example) are less ticklish with nylons.
