2009 MMA Prediction Thread.....

I touched on this briefly a little while back in the MMA thread.Basically I would like to start a prediction pool type thing for 2009.No money involved,just getting a bunch of us together casting our predictions for some of the events and at the end of the year tally up the totals.Just for fun.

We could keep it limited to UFC events and main card fights.As long as a few people participate we can keep the thread alive or else it will be lost in the abyss of failed TMF threads.Any thoughts or suggestions are welcome.


This Saturday being the first event,let's try to get this started.

UFC 93

Dan Henderson vs. Rich Franklin
''Shogun'' Rua vs. Mark Coleman
Alan Belcher vs. Denis Kang
Jeremy Horn vs. Rousimar Palhares
Marcus Davis vs. Chris lytle

The Franklin/Hendo was a hard pick.Up until now I was conviced I was going to pick Rich but I'm changin' at the last minute.Hendo has made a career out of fighting larger opponents and he has also fought tougher competition throughout his career.Tough pick but I'm going with him.

I have huge respect for Coleman but I think we're going to see a killer Shogun.Nuff said.

Palhares is better in every department when compared to Horn.

I'm also taking Kang and Davis in two fights that should also be very close.

With everyone focused on UFC 94 this is a great card that is getting somewhat overlooked.

Ace via TKO rd 2....i think Rich will stop him, Hendo has a great chance to win but still...

Shogun via KO rd 1....if he does not win in a spectacular fashion then thats a wrap on one of the most promising MMA careers

Kang via KO rd 1.....he's gonna wanna make a big spash in his UFC debut...

Davis via KO rd 1....this can go either way but Lytle tends to gas and is very tough to finish. i should prolly change it to a later round

Palhares via Sub rd 3....another one i should change but i think Horn gets subbed late
