BCS Bowl Schedule was released last night, along with the rest of the Bowl matchups. I'm a die hard Seminole fan that lives in Alabama, so I've got a dog in two of the fights, so to speak. Here are the BCS games for those who missed it:

BCS National Championship Game in Miami, FL
#1 Notre Dame (12-0) vs. #2 Alabama 12-1, SEC Champs)

Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA
#6 Stanford (11-2, PAC 12 Champs) vs. Wisconsin (8-5, BIG 10 Champs)

Fiesta Bowl in Glendale, AZ
#4 Oregon (11-1, At-Large Bid) vs. #5 Kansas State (11-1, BIG 12 Champs)

Orange Bowl in Miami, FL
#12 Florida State (11-2, ACC Champs) vs. #15 Northern Illinois (12-1, At-Large Bid)

Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, LA
#3 Florida (11-1, At-Large Bid) vs. #21 Louisville (10-2, Big East Champs)

There are also several non-BCS games that should be fun to watch:

Cotton Bowl in Arlington, TX
#9 Texas A&M (10-2) vs. #11 Oklahoma (10-2)

Capital One Bowl in Orlando, FL
#7 Georgia (11-2) vs. #16 Nebraska (10-3)

Outback Bowl in Tampa, FL
#10 South Carolina (10-2) vs. #18 Michigan (8-4)

Chic-Fil-A Bowl in Atlanta, GA
#8 LSU (10-2) vs. #14 Clemson (10-2)

Alamo Bowl in San Antonio, TX
#13 Oregon State (9-3) vs. #23 Texas (8-4)

I want to watch as many of these games as I can

what are y'alls thoughts about the schedule? Who's gonna win what? Who got screwed? who doesn't belong? As a Florida State fan, I know I'm more than a little bummed about playing NIU (no offense meant to any NIU fans out there) instead of say, OU or one of the other SEC schools that weren't eligible because of the only-two-teams-per-conference rule the BCS has in place (that rule is absolute garbage if you ask me and any Georgia fan). So what do ya think? Let it rip, y'all

NIU doesn't belong at all. No offense to their team, but they are not more deserving than Oklahoma, Clemson, or the array of SEC teams.

Louisville would have been in the Orange Bowl to face FSU instead of NIU. Oklahoma would have been in the Sugar Bowl to face Florida instead of Louisville. Those are much better matchups for the BCS then what we were given.

I think the Cotton, Capital One, and Chic-fil-A bowls will out class 3 of the 4 BCS bowls.

I agree completely. NIU had a great season (12-1) and their QB Jordan Lynch is a stud (poor man's Colin Klein) and for both of those, I congratulate them but the BCS screwed the pooch on this one. I feel truly sorry for UGA and would have liked to see them play in a bowl that mattered, cause they are a Top-3 team...

And your spot on, man. Aside from the Championship and the Fiesta Bowl, the Chic-Fil-A Bowl is the bowl game I'm most intruiged by. LSU barely slipped by TAMU and Clemson plays a very similar style of offense, but with more speed on the outside. Tajh Boyd is damn good and doesn't get the credit he deserves. It should be a real good game

LSU? You talkin' bout my alma mater now....

Seriously, I hate the BCS rules.

First off: Georgia is better than Florida. Period. End of Discussion. In the SEC, the hierarchy is fairly straightforward, and that's how the bowls shoulda been drawn. The Dawgs shoulda been in the Sugar Bowl.

1st - Alabama (who beat #2)
2nd- Georgia (who beat #3)
3rd- Florida (who beat #4)
4th- LSU (who beat #5)
5th- Texas A&M (who lost to 3 & 4 at home but did beat 'Bama)
6th- South Carolina (who also lost to 3 & 4 & beat #2 UGa)

As for Northern Illinois... hey! they played by the rules & they're in the Orange... In my opinion, they're MORE deserving than Louisville & Wisconsin. Their school & conf can use the money.

Now, speaking for my team, LSU, as the season wound down, I held hope to a BCS berth, but even w/o the stupid 2-team-per-conference rule, it be hard to justify us getting an at-large bid.I was looking fwd to hopefully meeting up with a high-tier team who also has 2 losses (if things broke a certain way), such as (in order of my thought process):

-- Stanford (who plays a similar style of play as LSU) - but alas, they win the PAC & go to the Rose
-- Florida State (also a top football program in the South) - but they won the ACC & are in the Orange
-- Oklahoma (also a big-time program, travels well like LSU fans)
-- Nebraska (like Oklahoma, a big-time program, and a team LSU hasn't played since '86... and never beat either BTW).
-- finally, it ended up being Clemson... which is a nice match-up, but I have little doubt we'll ground & pound our way to victory yet again.

But hey, I'm hoping for great games all around!

Watching ESPN this morning and it popped up that former Wisconsin Head Coach and current Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alverez was going to replace recently departed, Arkansas-bound Bret Bielema for one game in the Rose Bowl. I nearly spit coffee everywhere! Alverez was one of the best coaches in the past 25 years, right up there with Tom Osborne, Bobby Bownden, Steve Spurrier, and yes, JoePa. He took over a horrific Wisconsin progam in 1990 that was the doormat of the Big 10 for almost 30 years and a mere 4 years later, he took them to and won the 1994 Rose Bowl. In his 15 seasons at Wisconsin, he only had two losing seasons, went 3-0 in the Rose Bowl (Wisconsin's only 3 Rose Bowl wins at that, they were 0-8 all time before him), had a 1000 yard rusher a Big-10 record 10 years in a row, with his 1999 running back Ron Dayne winning the Heisman.

It's one heck of a publicity stunt by the Badgers, digging up Alverez and putting him back on the sideline for one game, the Rose Bowl, a game he owned in his hayday. Its nost definitely going to draw many Wisconsin alums and boosters off their couches and out to SoCal come New Years and I know I'll be watching on TV. Alverez, the master of lining up 5 330lbs+ linemen with two tight end in I-formation and essentially hollering across the line to the defense, "Hey! We're running it left this play." and then handing it to Monte Ball and gaining 8 yards anyway VS. Stanford's ferocious front seven that's big, strong, fast, and most importantly, disciplined. Any team that holds Oregon to 14 total points has got some serious strength up front. Still not entirely sure how they managed to do that, i feel like Oregon could on the 85 Bears...

But overall, I can't wait to watch that game just to see Alverez back on the sideline!

Oregon runs side to side and tries to find a seam to run through...if Defenses are patient then they can stop the ducks like Stanford did this year, or LSU last year.
