Talk of the Nation, June 5, 2009 · Do nonhuman primates have a sense of humor? Marina Davilla Ross and colleagues tickled baby gorillas, chimps, orangutans, bonobos and humans. Publishing in Current Biology, the researchers analyzed the sounds the primates made, looking for clues to the evolution of laughter.

I remember seeing someone tickle a baby chimp on Sesame Street when I was a kid and man, I was fascinated that an animal could seem to be ticklish like that. They are close to humans so I guess it does make sense.
