I'm bored after the end of the great games on Sunday (Monday night letdown?) and feel like posting random pros/cons opinions after one glorious week of NFL action (I needed an excuse to get drunk... Thank you NFL!)

1. The Patriots are in trouble without Brady (17-10 vs the Chiefs? Really?)
2. All those people who picked the Jags to reach the Super Bowl got a reality check and hopefully now realize that thier Pass-O is C+
3. The Seahawks may finish 7-9 and still win the NFC West (or finish 5-11 and blow up their team)
4. The Raiders really, really suck ass
5. The Detroit Lions need to fire Matt Millen and Rod Marinelli or just disband their entire franchise
6. The Packers can survive without Favre while the Vikes are still a QB away from the big time (And both will spice up the playoff mix)
7. The Falcons can get the big plays (vs really bad teams, which means?)
8. The Cowboys and Eagles are for real, the Browns...?
9. The Bears are further proof that Defense wins games

and...

10. For the third time in about 4 years, the Steelers look like a team to beat, despite their fatal flaws (but I know they'll blow this even though Brady's out for the year... *sigh*)

I still think my Niners are going to have a decent year. They didn't lose to the Cards because Arizona is so much better, they lost because they turned the ball over 6 times. They have a new QB and a new offense and are still trying to adjust to it all.

Dont count the Pats out yet. i believe a playoff appearance will happen.

True.

And if they beat Seattle this Sunday (in Seattle...) then they have a damned good chance.

Hawks fans are more scared than Pats fans at this point, IMO.

All I can say is that I was pleasantly surprised by the Ravens on Sunday. I still don't think we're going to contend this year, but I think we could be a .500 team.

You beat me to it. I temper my enthusiasm realizing that it was just one game, but they looked pretty poised for the most part. Can't be the only one thinking we were going to lose that lead in the 4th quarter, but the defense held up. I'll be interested to see if that offense can truly progress under Cam Cameron's leadership.

Yeah, I pretty much forgot about the 'Nevermore's', but as a Steelers fan I must admit in all honestly they 'scare me' more than the Browns ever will.

So long as they have Ray Lewis and a top-10 D, then once McGahee gets healthy they should be good for 7-9 wins. They're in a relatively weak division (Cincy's a joke, the Browns have yet to prove anything).

They have Houston this week, who Pitt stomped, so another win keeps their mo going. I'll surely keep an eye on them and Flacco unless they 'fall apart'. Of couse, Billick isn't their coach anymore...

(And for the record, the Jets and Bills also look 'frisky' so far, hopefully we'll get a better read on both of them in the coming weeks... I'm just SO GLAD the NFL season is here!)

1. The Texans, Raiders, and Rams still suck
2. The Patriots ain't goin' 16-0 again
3. Vince Young needs to grow a pair
4. The Packers are gonna be alright without Brett Favre
5. The Dolphins will flirt with a .500 finish this year
6. The Jets will flirt with a .500 finish this year
7. Indy won't go a sixth straight year with at least 12 wins

:manicd:So true... so true...

The Patriots are...............................DONE.

Actually, they will still be a competitive team, but they are no longer an ELITE team. They will be hard pressed to make the playoffs because you have Indy, Jaguars, Denver, Chargers, Jets and Steelers that will probably be the playoff contenders. It is a wait and see.

The Patriots will run the ball more, so they will be in games and they have a good shot of winning the division, but Brady is HUGE difference maker. Like if the Colts lose Peyton, they are DONE.

Now, do people finally realize that Vince Young is all HYPE? This guy has been coddled and proclaimed the "Jordan" of football (yes, people have said so..) and look at him now. He has always been just an athlete, NOT a QB. I wish him well, but he is NOT a NFL QB.

The Pats looked pretty decent today. of course they played a sad jets team. only time will tell. :wavingguy

You lost your right to say anything about the Patriots or dog food as far as the Football fans are concerned. The minute you started posting Maniac won't be back until September you lost ALL CREDITIBILITY with all of us fans. All you had to do, was take some good friendly ribbing, instead you took the high road. Okay, stay there.

Im always up for some ribbing. i took my hits. who wanted to hear what i had to say anyway. there was nothing that needed to be said on my part. no excuses, they lost. the Patriots juggernaut is no more, but im optomistic for good things out of them this year. :bowing:

You smoked your right to say anything maniac. You left when people wanted to get you right then. You wussed out and left. So you have NO creditibility with the football fans on here. We took your abuse all last year about how great they were and when they lost, what did you do??? You ran. Unlike you, everyweek, NT, myself, ticklefiend, slacker and the rest of us take our lumps when our team loses. When your team lost you ranaway.
