Does anyone else here think this is one of the best movies ever? Normally I'm not a Madonna fan, but she's damn funny in this movie. Geena Davis (GODDESS) is awesome. And Tom Hanks hit his character perfectly!

Tron

That is a wonderful movie, I own it on DVD and it is a movie worth watching numerous times!

LOVE IT!

Being in sports all the time, I could totally relate to this movie. It is one of my all-time favorite. Last spring, I let my soccer team (that I coach) watch it together. They love it too. The girl who plays Kit Keller reminds me of myself in her character and everything. (She plays in Free Willy, which is also one of my favorite movies.)I often feel like I am in someone else's shadow...

I truly enjoyed that flick...they were all good in it.

(there's no crying in baseball!!!!)

Ray

Ray! Damn you! You stole my line! 😛

Seriously, that part just cracks me up to no end every time I watch that movie. "Are you CRYING? There's no crying in BASEBALL!" That or when said players son gets plowed in the noggin in mid taunt. Hilarious!

I, too, love this movie. And no matter how many times I see it, I still cry at the end. I'm such a baby...

I LOVE movies that make me laugh and cry!
Jon Lovitz: "Well then, this would be more, wouldn't it???"
Every performance flawless, every line perfection!!!

XOXO

No

Yeah, TS nailed it on the head, this is one of those movies you can enjoy again and again.

This is a fantastic movie.
Every actor was more than convincing in their rolls (even Madonna who I think is a terrible actress), Penny Marshall's direction was wonderful, the writting was superb (there are a million great one-liners) and it was actually informative. Before I saw the move I never realized that there was a Women's Professional Baseball League.

I like that movie also. Like Tronnie, I don't normally like Madonna either but I liked her in that film.

Hell Rosie O'Donnell was funny in this movie...

This was a good movie...Penny Marshall makes a good flick...

Actually, League might have been Hanks last "Comic" role...

I always cry at the end too! (And towards the end when Bill Pullman walks in, wounded from the war.) It's just a great flick, it's got everything.

"A League of Their Own" is second on my all-time list of baseball movies, behind only "Eight Men Out". 😀

Kits Name..

Is Lauri Petrie. (also appeared in Tank Girl)

Did everyone here know Carmine Ragusa (Laverne and Shirley) was in League Of Their Own?

Tron

Re: Kits Name..

Yup! He was Madonna's talented dance partner the night the girls snuck out to the bar...

XOXO
