Cute....
Keep in mind Kobe was *this* close to winning one. Next year, he gets Bynum back and then we will see.
I hope you do remember that Shaq owes a great deal to Dwyane Wade for gettin ghim his 4th title...
Kobe has three of those too.

Yep. The same three Shaq has. By the way, that one Shaq is wearing is *one extra*.
He's displaying one Championship ring.
Oh well.
Kobe has three, Shaq has four. I hardly see this grand dispersal you are trying to allude to.
Well, not only that, but I think Shaq might be done winning rings. Something tells me Kobe's not quite done yet. Newbie promising young center Andrew Bynum might be Kobe's next "Shaq". Bynum already busted a spin move dunk and posterized an embarrassed Shaq in a regular season game a few years ago...it's only going to get more embarrassing as Bynum starts to grow into that 7 foot body.
Michael Jordan, who I think was the greatest player ever, was 28 years of age and seven years in the NBA before he won his first ring, and Jordan has won ZERO rings without Scottie Pippen.
Everybody needs help to win titles.
Shaq in the CRITICAL stages of the game was sitting on the bench waving a towel. Yet, everyone fawns over the big lug like he is actually responsible for the title.
Oh I know, Shaq contributed, but dammit, so did Jason Williams the point guard. Does that mean the Heat won because Williams was on the team? No. Look at the Boston Celtics. Did the Celtics win because Tony Allen was on the team? Tony Allen contributed, but we all know the Celtics still win the title with or without Tony Allen. Same with the Heat. They win the championship even if Shaq was sitting in the pressbox eating 4 dozen crates of Krispy Kremes. Shaq was as effective as Tony Allen was. Go back, watch the series again and you will see that.
Shaq is done. He is in Phoenix and it is quite obvious how he slows them down and how he is a liability. He still can't make free throws. He gives you 50% effort over the course of the season, he is 36 years old and Phoenix will still not win the title. The crazy thing is, Phoenix was actually better defensively with Shaq out there, but that's due to no one else on their team knows how to play defense. Shaq is finished and owes Wade everything for getting his 4th title.
Shaq has more rings than Kobe. Yippee. Keep in mind Robert Horry has more rings than either of them. Now what?
On the surface you would think Team USA should win the gold walking away. This couldn't be further from the truth. Fact is, they are not playing on a NBA court and they are not playing by NBA rules. That alone changes everything.
Fact of the matter is the rest of the world has more than caught up with the United States when it comes to basketball. The 6th pick in the NBA draft was from Italy. Thousands of colleges and thousands on top of thousands of college prospects and they went to Italy to fill a need. Again, that speaks volumes.
As Prime said, if the Olympics were played by NBA rules, the US would win in their sleep. But placing these guys in International Rules is a lot like placing the Patriots, Colts or Cowboys in the Canadian Football League and expecting them to win the title on talent alone. It's a totally different field and totally different rules.
And somebody please tell me where the idea came from that all foreign teams play together all year long and play as a team far longer than the United States?? If that were so, then how has Yao Ming, Dirk Norwitski and Tony Parker been playing with them? Fact is, other countries have leagues too and select their players from those leagues - and yes, they have to actually "make the team" too. Granted, some players are more or less given "automatics" because they are associated with the NBA. But even that is no guarantee.
Also, international rules do not "favor" other countries. They were introduced for just the opposite reason, so that no team would be favored. Spain, Russia, China, Italy, Australia and other countries do not play by "international" rules all season. They have their own rules, much like the NBA has their set of rules. Bottom line is every team has to change their way of playing.
I look forward to the Olympics. Should be very interesting.
