A Powerful Tickler.

So somehow the stars aligned and I was able to actually have another playing session with my friend who totally destroyed me the last time she tickled me. When she tickled me last time, she was by far the best tickler that I had ever tickled me. So I have to say, I was excited when we were able to get together again.

Now, funny thing, this time she was even BETTER! I got totally destroyed. (which was pretty awesome, I have to say.) But enough of my bragging and showing off. Time for the discussion part....

I have lots of theories on what makes good ticklers good and I'm sure I know exactly why she was better last night than the night before, but I'm interested in hearing your thoughts before start running off at the mouth. (or keyboard) So please share. What do you think are the major factors that make a person a better tickler than another? Also, what are your theories as to how my friend went from spectacular to un-freakin-believable in one session and a couple of months?

What makes one a good tickler depends on whom he or she tickles. What some would define as chemistry is really communication - and nonverbal at that - that makes for rewarding give-and-take, from conversation to sex, tickling, you name it.

Your tickler just reads you right, and that's a big part of the reason she gets you going so well. The other part is she makes you feel comfortable, so you are receptive to her touch.

Sure, I realize many people who don't want to get tickled nonetheless find themselves gasping for breath when a tickler forces himself or herself on them. I submit to you that such an instance is the result of nonverbal communication. The tickler subconsciously realizes the person he or she chooses to tickle is submissively ripe for his or her taking.

I agree with you about reading people, Em. That is one of the major reasons I feel that she is such a good tickler for me. However, I don't believe that someone is necessarily just good at reading one person. I think if you have that ability to "read people" it tends to fall to most, if not all, people. I do think that this girl was very in tune with my responses while she was tickling me and she learned how as she went, but I think that this would apply to just about anyone she tickled. Her technique would change, but her ability to read them and drive them absolutely crazy would not.

I think this is a really interesting question, and it saddens me to see it hasn't gotten more replies. Anyway my personal take on it is this. Yes, it does have
to do alot with social setting, emotional fragility, and a number of variables
like that. But there are also undeniably some people I have known who are
far better ticklers than just about anyone I've ever seen before.

There is definitely some ability to read people and 'home' in on their
vulnerability, almost draw it out of them and enhance it.
I also believe that a truly superb tickler has to have a devious,
pseudo-sadistic side that they draw from when tormenting someone.
Good verbal play doesn't hurt much either.
Ultimately it's really hard to put your finger on exactly what it is that
makes good ticklers good. I just like being on the receiving end. 😉

Great comments. The sadistic side is one part that particularly hit the nail on the head. To quote this girl, "Yeah. I'm a fan of torture." and she has told me a number of times how she finds it so fun to tickle really ticklish people and watch their helplessness. So you are another winner my friend. My 2 cents:

1. Enjoying themselves. The best ticklers I've known are the ones who have actually had fun tickling. If theyre doing it just for you, its not going to be the same.

2. A mean streak. Similar to the sadism mentioned earlier. A tickler who stops right away is no fun at all, at least for me.

3. Good memory. Knowing the good spots, and going back to them frequently.

4. Creativity. Either in words or in actions. Using something unusual as a tickle tool, or just talking about how much trouble I'm in...

5. Their own ticklishness. I think the best ticklers are the ones who know what its like to be tickled themselves. This isnt always the case, but I think it definitely helps.
