A question about the use of "safewords"

Yes i'm sure there have been threads regarding this topic, but not in the last few months..i was thinking the other day..if you are going to have a tickle session and there is a safeword agreed upon..and if you truly believe you won't be using it, but then find out you are driven to finally utter that word, does it make you a weak lee?

Not if you last a good long while and the 'ler is determined to push you to the breaking point but doesn't want you hurt. 😉 Even better if you want to be driven to that point and don't use it until YOU are satisfied as well. That's my take on it.

but what if you refuse to say that safeword, and the tickler hints that it might be a good idea to use it? do you think that's still wimping out?

I hate safewords. I would never give into saying it anyway. Just how I am. Stubborn or something. Most people I've played with are observant enough to notice when I need a break.

I've always prefererred to have a safeword, even if I don't intend to use it. It just adds that extra feeling of safety in the situation--I know that some of you prefer NOT to have that safety 😉

To me, safewords aren't whimping out. It's letting the ler know you don't want anymore----and in my opinion, it's only a fun session until that point. To me the purpose of all this is for BOTH parties to enjoy the fun. If the lee isn't enjoying it anymore, it's not fun for me whether I'm ler or lee.

Again, I know some of us have differing opinions, and I'm not knocking the other side of the coin, just putting in my 2p.

that's a great answer..sometimes safe words can come in handy..especially if the lee won't say it, but the ler keeps hinting that it might be a good idea to say it now...

A i use a safe word when i'm a lee but the one time when i was driven to use it i forgot it and i told my ler my sister that i forgot it see said oh too bad i have only used the safe word once because most of the time i can be a stuborn lee i do agree with karen i don't think using the safe word is whipping out

I concur with Karen...having one just in case never hurts...plus, if you're working with a new ler, and they are hurting you or otherwise being ineffective, a safeword is a smart move.

I have never used a safeword...but I like knowing that, should I need to get up and pee or get a drink, I have the option.

I don't think it's wimping out if you have a valid reason to stop the scene...bathroom break, beverage break, unable to breathe break, or your ler is not being effective for whatever reason...a safeword is the best...however, if you're just wussing out, Izzy...then yes, you're a wimp!!! 😛

if the ler is good enouh like the hollywood brother than a safeword is not needed. however if you do not fully trust the ler then a safeword can be a good thing
