I've been reading about shows in The Anime Insider that peak my interest (Scrapped Princess, Read or Die) but it appears that the only way I'll be able to see them is if I actually buy the DVDs. Would it be worth it you think? :idunno: 😕

well, it depends. i havent seen either of those, i saw some of read or die and it seemed cool. i'd reccomend the following animes:

Fruits Basket
Inuyasha
Love Hina
Gravitation
Lupin the 3rd
Cowboy Bebop
Wolfs Rain (awesome!)

theres tons of great stuff out there, it's all worth it

I am going to assume you mean ROD: THe TV and not the two-hourish OVA. ROD is quite nice, and is on G4 every day if you want to check it out before buying. As for Scrapped Princess...Well, Newtype USA has had positive reviews (Then again, I don't think I've seen a negative review out of them.).

Read or Die is cool. Also so is Revolutionary Girl Utena and Chobits.

To do a shameless plug, you can get anime through netflix for cheaper than buying the dvd's if you aren't sure about them, especially since most anime dvd's cost 30 bucks a pop.

Also consider scrounging for an anime club in your area. Most colleges have 'em and probably wouldn't be adverse to outsiders. Or try meetup.com or something (though I hear rumors they're gonna start charging money.)
