Well either way for me will work , I guess it depends on how ticklish the person is also long nails make it more senstive. Reminds me how I find out if someone has ticklish feet just a little stroke test. I remember one time a girl I was dating we went back to her place to watch a movie. While she was looking through her colection of videos she was kneeling on the floor and her bare soles were exposed so I decided to give a quick tickle, she passed the test and discovered she was very ticklish, later on while we go to know eachother a little better I played with her feet some more. OK, I’d have to say up if you were using your fingers, that way you could spider all the way from the heel. But then again if the toes were held back it might be better to drag slowly downward? *Shivers* its usually the up strokes that get me. A slow, lingering trail of the fingernail right up the center of my sole utterly devastates me. There's usually alot of lip biting, soft giggles and squirming on my part. Sometimes I even have to bury my face in my hands it gets to me so much!

Whenever my foot is tickled with anything pointy, so a nail would do, I jerk hard. And sometimes even laugh/scream. Slow, fast, both can drive me equally nuts because they are tickling my foot. Finger pads or feathers won't produce the same reaction.
