Well, for most of you who know me, you are aware of the health and blood pressure issues I have been having since mid March. I had my latest Doctor visit today, and the results were stunning. The doctor had told me at my last visit on 5-13, at which time I was 178 lbs, that he wanted me to be at 175 lbs, which would have represented a 22 pound weight loss from my high of 197 on March 17. Today, I got on the scale in his office, and both he and I were stunned. I have exceeded his expectations, and Iam now a lean 169 pounds, which means I have lost 28 pounds since March 17, and exceeded his expectations by 6 lbs. I have now dropped all the weight that I gained in the 6 years I have lived here, and Iam exactly the same weight as I was when I moved down from NJ. My BP is at a very good 130 over 84, and I now get a reprieve from seeing him until October, and can actually gain 3 to 6 lbs with his blessing. This means Iam allowed to reintroduce foods like Fried Chicken, and Bagels into my diet. He is extremely proud of me, and Iam very proud of myself. Iam living proof that anyone can diet and lose weight if they want to, because before March 17, 2005, I was very unhealthy, and addicted to food. Now, Iam a lean, healthy man. So, to celebrate, I went out for lunch, and devoured a meal at my favorite Peking Buffet for the 2nd time this week!
It is so nice to have a little wiggle room, and be a bit underweight.
I want to thank everyone on the forum who supported me with their kindness during this time. I was fortunate to have the moral support of my friends, my mother, and a great doctor. It was so refreshing to leave the Doctor's office with him having a smile on his face, and have him say to me:" Mitch, if all my patients were like you, I'd be a happy man". I will admit I feel a certain sense of pride today, and of course gratitude to everyone who has been so supportive. So, thanks, everyone, from a much thinner, and healthier Mitch!
