So, hello everyone--I seldom post lately but I was literally just walking down the street today when I had a thought that I wanted to share. I was thinking about how one might explain the desire to go to a tickling gathering to a friend or significant other, and an analogy that works really well for me sprang to mind.
I am a real music lover, and I spend a lot of my time listening to music or playing my guitar, but sometimes I feel an overwhelming need to catch a live show. I think that's because I want both the visceral experience of watching the band while they are actually making the music and the feeling of being among like-minded people.
To me, that is a great analogy for wanting to go to NEST (or something similar). It's ok to read the TMF or watch videos on your own, but sometimes you really want to be among like-minded people and participate in some tickling fun, either by watching or playing. I won't go on forever, but the analogy spiraled out of control then--I imagined forming a band of your own being roughly equivalent to making a gathering of your own and so on.
So there's my little analogy--and I wonder if anyone else has their own personal way of thinking about this. I'd love to hear some of those!
Best,
