A theory on ticklishness...

The theory I heard stated that ticklishness is sort of a defensive reflex, caused from not being used to being touched in a certain spot. It makes sense, really. Where are you the most ticklish? Spots you aren't used to being touched, right? Have someone tickle your forearm. Not near as good of a result as say... your foot. I mean really, how many people touch your foot on a daily basis?

I see where you are coming with this, and to a certain extent, I agree.

But, there are certain parts on me that are naturally uber sensitive.

It all goes back to knee-jerk reaction, genetics and over all natural sensitivity. Some folks can take a squeeze. Others fall to pieces.

Of course, with time a person may become more or less ticklish depending on how often they are touched in a spot and in what way.

This is true, if a Ler focuses on one spot constantly, the Lee will adapt to the sensation, thus weakening the reaction/sensitivity.

But if they are almost never tickled on their tummy but instead have it rubbed or some touched in other non-threatening way (such as sexually), then they will become less ticklish there.

I don't necessarily agree with this. There are numerous ways to touch.

So, if this theory is true, how do you find someone who is the most ticklish?

I see how you can stick with thaat theory. But, don't forget natural sensitivity factors a large part as well, and has nothing to do with lack/increase of touch. Or any of the other aspects mentioned.

Some of us are just... gifted?

It Truly Is A Bug's Life..

This Is A Variation On The "bug" Theory Of Ticklishness. That Is That Being Ticklish Is A Warning System That Alerts Us To A Stinging, Biting Bug Or Parasite Etc Crawling On The Feet, Ribs, Arms Etc. Of Course Why We Laugh And Or Or Get Turned On Is Way Better Than A Just A Call To The Local Exterminator!!!!!!

This is a very interesting theory, and it is certainly believable. It makes sense. Its all about how nerve endings develop responses to familiar senstions. If this is true, then wouldn't someone who loves to be tickled and is very ticklish eventually become not ticklish at all. Its an indirect relationship. Tickled alot = less ticklish. Ummm. Its something to ponder about and look into. Who is willing to volunteer themselves for this experiment? Any takers?
