-starts singing the "So Long, Farewell" song from The Sound of Music~ I don't want to do this but I don't really have an option right now. Last week, my hard drive perminantly crashed. So, $400 and a week later, I finally got my system back. Juuuust in time to find out that I need to move out in 1 week due to my room mate's family emergency. (long story) So, I get to move in with my parent's temporarily. They have internet access, but with ISP provided filters, on a dial up access. So, I won't be able to access my favorite website until I get moved back out again. So, that's going to be a few MONTHS down the road. I'll still be able to recieve email since that isn't going to be filtered by the ISP. Unfortunately, I won't even have the time to stop by and visit this site until after I move out of my parent's place. I'll be too busy packing shit up over the next week. Wheeee...... I hope to be back as soon as I can, but.... It's going to be a while.

Gracious! That's a hard turn of events. However, the HDS might have a solution for you. Ever heard of a proxy? It allows you to access one restricted website by accessing it via another website, the proxy. I've used Megaproxy before (Only canceling when I had no need for it anymore.) with great ease. The only trouble with the TT is that you will need to change your posting options to the simple kind (Not the javascript-assisted WYSIWYG editor) or else you will not be able to post (As proxies are meant to be secure and thus often disable such things as Flash and javascript.). At about $10.00 for 90 days, you can't go wrong.

Not sure if this will work (the likes of HDS will use their god like powers to correct me) but can you create a simple web page (on geocities or the like, for free), to create an imbedded page on your site (where it shows a different website, but within an area you set out in a webpage)? I did web design a while ago, so I honestly can't say if this will work, but if it does, all you have to do is set up a dummy webpage with some simple html (people here will help you) and you should be set (unless I'm completely wrong, which is likely, but then again, I'm very drunk!)

You speak of something like a frame, I think, where a page has a section in it that is not that page but is rather another page within the site or another site entirely. Something similar occurs with a Google image search result. Click on one of the images in a Google image search and you will be directed to a page with a little Google frame at the top containing the thumbnail and some information. Below it is the page containing the actual image. This will not override a filter. A proxy does something similar, where the proxy server itself requests and downloads the page you want, then sending it to you from them, making it seem like you requested a page from the proxy, not the real site you are viewing. This, however, is no simple bit of HTML and cannot be done in Geocities to the best of my knowledge.

🙁 Sorry to hear that, especially because I know what it feels like. I just got back 2day from something like that. (I had a crash but only recently got around to fixing it; waaay too much going on). I hope you'll be back sooner than you're guessing thought...🙂

Ever hear of TOR? (http://tor.eff.org/) It's pretty easy to setup, and you can access websites without having to use external proxies. If you have firefox it makes it even easier to setup 🙂 I use it now as my ISP has filtering as well...
